I would breakdown my review in: 2/3 starts for staff, 4 stars for the site and 5 for food. I’ve set 4 stars just not to be unfair with owner. So...the staff, first you can see the “too cool to be working at the pub” Atitude, not single time I saw the staff particularly the 2 girls (look twins) do a smile, we had our table booked for 1:30 arrived on time and at 15:05 a chalk board with next reservation name and hour (15:30) was slammed into the table with no justification, just put and walked out. Fair treatment for a table of 8...take my money! The site is cool, I believe it lacks some seating but maybe the way the pub is layout makes it difficult to accommodate more. The outside seating is amazing, facing the sun with lots of seating and a cool counter with high stools perfect to take in that vitamin D on a sunny day. The food, as a gastropub, they have the usual menu, couple more options than standard including a fish dish (photo attached). Their food was amazing, I had the beef roast and not only it was so tasty, Cooked in perfection but also had lovely details as sweet potato chips inside the yorkie and braised pulled beef on top of regular beef, kind of a treat and what a treat it was...Excellent roast! As per other reviews maybe I just had an unlucky timing but I have to be fair on my own personal experience, that chalk board thing was def a no, people get away by considering pub waiting service but we should take pride and excellence in everything we do

Not normally one to post a bad review but the roast we had yesterday was mega disappointing. 17 quid for a couple slices of dry (saved by gravy) pork, two very sadd, tiny halves of parsnip and some equally sad carrots just isn’t up to scratch. Roasted potatoes and veg just tasted of old grease. One roast was served without a Yorkshire that had to be requested. Having run a roast service myself this just smacked of serving up the ends of batches that had sat around too long and low standards. Better score on service as the serving staff were apologetic and brought more veg when requested but honestly this just wasn’t good enough. There are many other roasts in the city that are way better, swerve this one.
