Where to start... went on Monday 24th Sep, very quiet only a few people in the pub, starter of baked brie with cranberry sauce was cold and hard, when the mains eventually arrived after a half hour wait, they were on cold plates. 2 components of my meal were missing (corn on cob and grilled tomato) when I pointed this out to server I received a curt reply and told she would sort it out, half day through my meal a cold dish was plonked on the table with a clearly microwaved corn on the cob, with no butter or seasoning... (still no tomato so I gave up on that).. the main was a disappointment to say the least. Ribs - warm and hard, the texture of cardboard soaked in BBQ sauce, Sausages - burnt and tasteless, BBQ Beans - served luke warm in a sauce jug! Curly Fries - soggy and in one huge clump, Onion Rings - so soggy they bent in half when lifted... Gammon Steak- so salty it made my teeth itch... When the server eventually asked if meal was okay and was told no, all I got was shrug and a sorry before she shuffled off back to the kitchen.. As you have to pay at the point of ordering there was no way I could refuse to pay for such abysmal food... safe to say this was my first and last...

I'd like to leave a review of 0 stars for the service and the food but sadly, google wont let me do that. I had booked a table for 8pm, we arrived, showed them our booking confirmation and were told the kitchen was closed. I spoke to the woman who was in charge, I asked why they would allow bookings to go through on the website if the kitchen is closed at 8pm. She told me it was essentially my fault for arranging the booking in the afternoon, because she didn't check the bookings after midday. Her poor management skills shouldn't be my fault. When I asked her why she wasn't honouring the booking, she told me she was planning on reopening the kitchen, but because I was being rude to her I needed to leave. Apparently, pointing out a mistake is now classed as being rude. So yeah, I'd like to leave 0 stars because we didn't even get to try the food, and her rude and aggressive behaviour was completely unnecessary to the extent other patrons at the bar were agreeing with me. Cant comment much on the atmosphere though because we weren't there for...

Arrived at 12:10 ready for our reservation at 12:15 doors was locked someone arrived in a car and knocked the door and passed a bottle to someone on the inside, we assumed they was opening the doors, tried to go in and was then told that they are not going to be open for at least another half hour as they have a technical issue but upon looking inside there was just one lady there which looked like giving someone some medicine of some sort, we had a reservation and we had no call or email to say about the issue and neither did they call to ask why we wasn’t there or anything this is the first message recieved, every 5th December us as a family all go out for a meal as it is my mothers anniversary of her death, and ironically we actually came here last year on 5th December 2022 and again we was turned away at the door because we was told the kitchen was not open as they had no staff! So this has happened to us 2 years running on the same day now and I think the way it is handled is appalling especially as we had made a booking...
