Pre ordered dinner via Just-Eat for 5.30 and it turns up 15 mins late. I wish that was the problem. The so called large carvery wasn't large at all and yes I have had one to compare it to. This had no extra sausage, no extra beef/brisket and contained a dollop of mash that had been smashed down into the veg that I hadn't ordered. The stuffing wasn't in two nice balls like usual and the potatoes were blackened. The only thing that was like a large carvery was the two Yorkshire puds. I called up the restaurant straight away and spoke to Adam who took my name, order number and said he would speak to the kitchen to sort it and call me back. Well guess what..... no call and I had to chat again to someone called Maritha. She said she had no drivers to send me another meal out. She said that I would need to buy another dinner to get one or go to Just Eat for a refund. That left me no other option but to get a refund. Totally gutted as the one before had been really nice.

Really fancied a carvery, rang around and many of them finish at 5pm (Brewers fare) or had run out!!! Another had a long queue. Luckily found The Townhouse. Hubby brought drinks and was given a slip for carvery. When it was my turn, as I was sooooooooo hungry I asked for a slice of each meat. I then helped myself to two sausages and was instantly stopped. 'No madam you can't have those' I apologised as there was nothing to say I couldn't help myself. He said that because I'd touched them don't worry. I'm really sorry but in my hometown we can help ourselves to sausages. If it makes you feel any better I gave one to my hubby and thoroughly enjoyed every single mouthful of my lovely meal. We also had dessert and I had homemade toffee apple crumble sponge which was amazing. Thank you and thank you to the young lad who said he would order our desserts for us. If you enjoy a carvery you won't be disappointed.

i ordered the dirty philly burger and it was like a lucky dip, no hash brown or crispy onions but there was guacamole and salsa sauce? which wasn't advertised to be a part of the dish. to be honest 90% of the burger was nacho cheese sauce so most of the time you could only see the other ingredients, besides when you felt a bit of spice from the salsa. Overall the burger was pretty poor and for the price I would rather buy 8 McDonald's burgers. Now onto the MASSIVE portion size of wedges i paid extra for, honestly they tasted average but literally a hand full of them for a "Full Meal" is disappointing. I did order this through delivery so not sure how they're at location, I would recommend ordering anything else if you want a good amount of food and not random items added onto your meal

Went for dinner and the carvery was what you’d expect for a late evening. I was more disappointed with the service I got from the young lad in the glasses who was carving the meat…. When he could be bothered too! After a few minutes of waiting I had to call round the counter not once but twice. Still did not bother to come serve me. I asked a waiter to politely tell them I’m waiting. The kitchen is very much open and I heard the waiter say ā€œsomeone is waiting for carveryā€ to his reply ā€œOH, WHAT A SHAMEā€ still didn’t bother to come out… few moments later he comes out. I said to him ā€œoh, what a shameā€ so he knew I just heard him say that… nothing, no apology for the poor attitude just said ā€œwhat you got?ā€ Give him my ticket. Before he scarpered I told him my mum was about to come up. ā€œYe, no worriesā€ honestly couldn’t make it up! Piss poor attitude and TERRIBLE customer service. Once back at my table I was so annoyed I didn’t even want to eat my dinner so decided it’s best to take it home. I asked to talk to the manager who I’d like to say was lovely! Really apologetic and just genuinely nice. Sorry you’ve got to work with people who have no problems bringing the reputation of the business down like that. I come to the townhouse a few times in the summer and all the staff was friendly and polite… shame about him. Don’t get me wrong, I work in hospitality. I’m all for the banter and having a fun working environment and enjoying your time at work but that was not okay. If any of my customers heard me talk like about them I’d be so embarrassed. Not this guy...

A bit disappointing. My daughter chose the large carvery at £10.29 which included sausages. Unfortunately there were no sausages but the chef offered to bring them over once they were cooked. This didn't happen, so we had to leave the table and go back up and ask for them. They eventually arrived just as she had finished eating. The roast beef was inedible, very tough and fatty, so we took it home for the dog so it didn't go to waste. I chose the 'chippy plater' at £10.79 which again wasn't great. Supposed to come with extra chips, but looked like a normal smallish portion of the basic frozen catering variety. The peas were the same, obviously from a cheap basic buy frozen packet, and they arrived cold on the plate. The battered fish was ok, and the sausage nice enough. The extra rounds of bread and butter that was promised never appeared, instead I was given one slice of cheap white bread and a one small butter portion. The drinks we ordered were 1 soda water and 1 Pepsi which were both on tap behind the bar. For some reason they cost over £4.50

So, all in all not a great experience. Things could be improved enormously for very little effort and cost. Don't buy cheap catering pack peas and chips. For a few pence more get something better, or even invest in a commercial chipper and make fresh chips. Likewise with the meat, a few pence more and you can get better quality which customers will return for. Have the sausages ready, and don't forget to serve them, nothing annoys diners more than having to badger the chef...

We visited here whilst on holiday and it all started badly as we had a push chair and getting into this restaurant is a nightmare for anyone in a wheelchair or if you have a pushchair. All 3 entrances have steps and I don't mean one or two. They are steep and you won't get any assistance either.

We ordered food from the menu and was provided a buzzer which is pretty standard these days but when the buzzer did go off after well over and hour and it wasn't busy either but I think I know why! Only 2 of the meals were ready and when I questioned where our little girls fish fingers were I was told they was at another counter, so off we went to grab our chips to finish of our burgers and locate the missing fish fingers to be told they are not ready yet and I should come back in 10 minutes (probably while they cook them) the food on the carvery was very dry, my partner opted for a carvery and sorry she did. If you want dry veg and rock hard roast potatoes then this is the place.

Don't expect any manners or anything like that because you won't get it and also when you finally get all of your food you will find out that the burgers are over cooked and provide on a burnt bun and as for the missing fish fingers well then they were burnt and rock hard, no something a 3 year old would enjoy!

We left leaving our food and opted for a takeaway on the way back!

BE WARNED!! Enter at your own risk! This place is a hazard for both food...
