Began in 2015 by Wade Smith and Megan Scaddan in their mothers kitchen in Nottingham their website tells you that armed with a tenner and a wok they took the standard doughnut to the next level with their handmade doughnuts and buns. Doughnotts was created. Since then the pair have opened 3 other shops in Leicester, Lincoln and Beeston but also two in the East Midlands Outlet and more recently the West Midland Outlet.
My personal favourite is in Beeston store in the former Thorntons chocolate outlet shop. The staff are so friendly, professional and swift to serve that there is always a customer walking in from the entrance right on High Street. With easy access for wheelchairs, there are a few seats for eat in diners but mostly for take away or delivery through their website. In addition are celebration cakes and special occasion doughnuts.
Served with the local 200degrees coffee you are treated to some of the most decadent doughnuts ever bought. With dipped or dusted, deep filled or topped with mouthwatering flavours, vegan and non vegan doughnuts, cinnamon buns, forget the other brands they pale in comparison in not only size but taste too.
The thing about Doughnotts is you never know what topped goodies will be available in addition to the core standard and premium doughnuts their toppings change on their speciality doughnuts so what you bought last week might not be made this week. Almost like Willy Wonka making the sweets e feels like making and I have the feeling that the doughnuts of the day are made by what their baker feels like baking. But one thing is consistent is the quality and size of these pastries and the level of professionalism from all the staff.
Whenever in Beeston I always find half an hour to stop off for a coffee and a treat before going on my way. Well recommended whichever...
Read moreDoughnotts is an excellent business which has grown throughout Nottingham and I was extremely happy when they opened a store in Beeston. As soon as you step foot in to the store, you are hit with the beautiful smell of fresh doughnuts.
The staff are always very friendly and patient with us when we trying decide which donut to try. I quite often take my nephews and they particularly love the Cookie Monster donut which is always their first choice. There is always a good selection of donuts to choose from, some of which are also vegan. I used to love the cinnamon scroll, which sadly i haven't seen on sale the past couple of visits sadly.
Seating is quite limited inside, but quite often we get lucky and manage to sit in the window. The store does seem very popular and it's always a shame when they sell out which happens quite often on a weekend. There are also hot and cold drinks on sale, with 200 degrees coffee available to purchase, which is much loved by myself.
Interior of the store is very nice and quite small, but gives it a cosy feel to the place. Prices I think are very reasonable for the quality of the product and Doughnotts really isn't your standard doughnut. Highly recommend this...
Read moreMy visit was on the 17th June and based on this visit I shall most definitely be back again. Myself and a friend decided to stop in for a coffee and naturally a Doughnott! Upon walking in we was greeted by one of the friendliest gentleman ever, and I mean ever! We was given time to pick what we wanted, and the whole time we continued to converse about which were each other favourites. This gent could not have done more to make our visit better if he'd have tried, honestly nothing. I had one of, if not, the best coffee's I've drank in many many years. It had such a deep flavour with a tasty froth that lasted all the way to the very bottom of the cup, so goes to show how well it was made. I went for a Lotus Biscoff cookie and to take home for my partner a Lotus Biscoff Doughnott and was not disappointed with either one! Thanks again to the manager of the store...
