A number of coffee shops have popped up in Burnley centre but Rhode Island remains my firm favourite. Good coffee, plenty of choice of snacks and baking, scones are delicious. Staff are always very welcoming and friendly. Wheelchair accessible entrance - doors open automatically - and plenty of room inside with tables arranged well, but there is plenty of seating outside too if the weather is fine. There is a toilet for the disabled at the back of the cafe. Food and drink is ordered at the counter and is then brought to the table when ready.

Called in for 2 Americanos to take away. Was late on a Friday just before they were due to close. The store was still quite busy, and I can see why, because the coffee is extremely good (and I'm a coffee snob). Toilets were clean, as was the store. The store is absolutely lovely and has an open book department where you can leave and swap books. I love that concept. My only issue with this store is that the service was slow, and it did look like they were packing up the sweet treats for use the next day (so just be mindful of this).

Coffee was fantastic, as was the food,, the service on the other hand left a lot to be desired, no welcome as we entered the coffee shop, just a generic what can I get you? Manager discusssing staff issues on the shop floor with another member of staff, food placed very close to the coffee grounds instead of being prepared on the counter, overall quite a cold experience, reminded me of a pompous, pretentious 90s coffee shop,

Not only my favourite coffee place to go to, but my favourite part of Burnley town. I go in there if not every day, certainly every second day and I never stop craving for the place.

The staff are all so good to get on with, even before I became a regular, me and my friends used to make it a competition to try and leave the place without someone giving a parting comment, even at a busy time, they all always found a way to ensure we knew that they appreciated us as we left.

Now, with it being a regular place for me to go, I've got a good friendship with most of their employees and even the new recruits that start there are instantly as friendly as the old.

Aside from the custom, and more to the point of the place, the coffee. I think I've had almost everything on the menu in terms of coffee, I've only recently started liking coffee and with this place, it's like an addiction, everything they make is of a uniquely high standard. Their latte's, with or without syrup is awesome. Cappuccino's, although not my favourite coffee, I got one the other day before work and wow, was I happy that they recommended it! Their iced refreshers are definitely the best thing though, if you haven't been before or haven't had one, I definitely recommend you try it!

I always try to convert my family and friend to come to here rather than Costa which is just across the road, I used to go there but when I first tried Rhode, Costa haven't had a look in since and everyone else agrees when they try it. The smoothies, their sandwiches, cakes and more, everything is all so great. People complain about the price, but even as an 18 year old part time worker who has the expenses of university to think of, the quality definitely far surpasses the price of it all.

In short, Rhode Island is a fantastic place to go to relax, have a nice, genuine customer care from the employees as well as have a catch up with friends. Definitely recommend for any...

It's a shame that Costa Coffee has opened up just across the street from it, but thankfully Rhode Island Coffee is as busy as ever and it can often be tough to get a seat - especially on a Saturday. I'm glad it remains busy though, as they totally deserve all the business they continue to receive despite the Costa being bigger.

The staff are always really friendly and make you feel right at home, making some of the best coffee I've tasted (a million times better than what you get at Starbucks). I usually order a tasty panini, and they always bring your order over to you.

The atmosphere is worth it alone too, it's much easier to relax and read or a book or work on your laptop than it is in the often quite noisy Costa. Let's hope it sticks around for a long...

Just at the Burnley store, the shop itself and the atmosphere is pretty good. Despite it being very quiet I stood at the till for over 5 minutes waiting for a coffee.

I've literally just watched the barista trying to make a large latte...by constantly pouring hot burnt milk into other jugs, adding a little cold milk, reheating, pouring milk out, adding cold milk, reheating and then pouring the burnt over-heated milk into a now cold espresso.

The jug she is using is absolutely caked in old crusty milk. It's gross.

The whole coffee area is dirty. The jugs are full of old manky burnt milk.

The standard of coffee making seems to continually fall in this store. It's unfortunate. You'd think it would be an area in which a small chain could be...
