Would like to say the service at the Forts Of India last night was poor. We left before we started.
Although we were under the impression you could only have a booth for a set period of time someone rang my sister and advised because she had paid a deposit there would be no rush to vacate the booths.
On arriving some of the party were asked to get in touch with the people who were running a little late ( 5 to 10 mins ) because as it became apparent we only had the tables / booths from 6.30 until 8.30. Maybe we would have had time to eat but we wanted to feel relaxed and not on a time limit.
On being seated the manager was rude when we explained we had received a phone call from the restraunt informing us there was no time limit he repeatedly told us " well you do have a time limit at weekends because it's busy " He also reminded us we were late implying that the time constraint was now our fault. On telling him we were unhappy and we would leave he said he would hold the next party off for 10 minutes. We all felt this was to little to late due to his abrupt manner and the fact that until challenged and asked why he had not once said the magic words every customer wants to here when there has been a mistake "Sorry". Slightly in his defence he did apologise but as mentioned only after being asked to and knowing we were about to leave the restaurant.
We left... 5 adults and 4 children ... needless to say we didn't pay for the drinks we left behind. To me this is a how not to make your customers feel welcome.
So off to the Prachee in Prestwich where we were made to feel welcome, smiley faces, excellent service, great food and 3 hours sat at the table. In the end a good night...
Read moreMy family and I have visited Forts on a number of occasions and each time the service felt like it's on the decline. Tonight has absolutely cemented in my mind that I will not visit again. Having booked on a night I knew would be busy, we arrived promptly, ate quickly (although food took a while to come) and were willing to leave as conveniently as possible.
When the waiter came to clear our plates he repeatly informed us, in quite an irritated tone that he was very busy tonight and that he can't keep coming back and forth to clear our plates. In no way had I indicated that I wanted him to do so. When I asked for the card reader so I could pay and leave quickly, he repeated again that he was very busy and I would have to wait. Having counted five free tables, I was unsure why he seemed so insistent on reiterating that fact that he was so busy.
I refuse to dine somewhere where I'm made to feel like a burden and therefore will not be visiting again. If you have young children or visit on a night where service is busy, expect...
Read moreMe and my partner go every week without fail, my partner recommended this place to me when we first got together. So I said hey ho let’s give it a go. I find it hard to find a decent curry place and let me tell you when I stepped into that restaurant and my food was placed infront of me wowww just wowww my tastebuds were tingling I’ve never had a curry so beautiful and flavourful in my entire life. Yes some people may say that they are over priced on some things but what do you expect from a good Indian! For the quality of the food the price is very reasonable and I have no problem paying this! Will be returning again best Indian by far!! Service yes sometimes can be abit slow due to being busy but what do you expect it’s called have some patience and wait because the food is spectacular either way regardless if it comes out in 15-20 minutes or if it’s 30-40 minutes! Customer service is also great always greeted with a smile and they never fail to...
