When I saw there was going to be another Tapas Resturant in the area, I was ecstatic as I'm huge fan of Spanish food. Religiously, I have always gone to Campo Blanco and have never been disappointed, so I was super keen to try out Taso.
I wouldn't say it was a bad experience, i would say I was more disappointed as I felt it might of had some similarity in taste to Campo.
The resturant it self is on the small side with tables sitting pretty close to one another, so if you like space when you eat you might find it uncomfortable. Within the resturant there is a bar and an open kitchen, so it can get a bit smokey in the seating area.
I ordered some Sangria, a sharing platter and around 6 tapas dishes and some table water. I felt the food tasted bland and could hardly taste the garlic in the dishes. Every dish seemed to have come with a slice of lemon, which I found odd as I believed lemon slices tend to come with certain dishes/foods. I couldn't really find a taste difference between Taso's and Asda's frozen option on the Calamri and Halloumi. The meatballs couldn't handle a fork as they fell to pieces and they too also tasted watery. The dishes that had tomato based sauces tasted very peppery. On the platter there was Salami and when the platter was put down, I was asked by the person I was if it was fried spam. The meat didn't look or taste like Salami. The chorizo was in chunks and chewy. The table water was room temperature and the Sangria also tasted watered down, red Sangria was the only option on the menu.
From the time I arrived to the time I left it was 40 minutes. It must have taken less than 5 minutes from them taking my food order to the food coming out one after the other. It was quick but too quick for fresh food. I've never gone to a resturant for only 40 minutes.
Other than the food, the atmosphere was nice and the waiting staff were polite and friendly. The food wasn't totally inedible just very mediocre. I'm not one to make a fuss in resturants and therefore paid the price. However I don't think it's worth the expense.
Its such a shame but unfortuanlty it's not somewhere I will be eating again.
Response to Taso We are all entiltled to an opinion and sorry you felt you needed to reply the way you have. Many thanks for your opinion. The Bill was £83. As your saying my total bill incorrectly i belive you are also stating the time i was there incorrectly too. I didn't say where I sat was small, I said the resturant is small for people to be aware encase they didn't like small spaces. I didn't say the food was great, the person I was with said it was ok when asked. There was also food left behind, like I said it wasn't inediable, it wasn't what I expected from Spanish food and therefore didnt rate Taso to be good spanish cuisine. Normally its vibrant and falvoursome but in this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Taso Tapas in Manchester, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic dining experience.
The menu was diverse and offered a range of traditional and modern tapas dishes, each bursting with flavor.
The service was impeccableāour waitress Rossy was attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to recommend dishes based on our preferences. The staff truly made us feel like valued guests.
As for the ambiance, it struck the perfect balance between cozy and lively. The dim lighting and tasteful decor transported us straight to Spain.
Overall, Tapas is a must-visit for anyone in Manchester. Whether youāre looking for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, or just a taste of Spain, this place has it all. Iāll definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA fantastic local Tapas Bar. Couldn't be happier with our visit last night. Not been open that long and we drove past and had to try it and I'm so pleased it was so good as we'll definitely be back. I took my wife to celebrate her passing an exam. We shared the chicken and chorizo Paella which was delicious. She got Halloumi and I got calamari both in the same bread crumb and both with the best aoli I've had. She ordered pork ribs which was a little salty but tasty and I ordered lamb chops which were very lovely. We also shared a Mezze board which was nice. No complaints about the food and only compliments to the chefs...
