I came here originally for a quick pint of real ale and ended up chatting with the friendly locals and barstaff all afternoon!. The ales are rotated weekly I was informed and are drawn from the old style hand pulls. They also offer bottled ales, ciders and wines too so there is a bit of choice for everyone.
The interior is old fashioned and very comfortable with many different beer mats pinned up on the walls, old photos, a mini library and many ale related booklets and leaflets. There is a very quaint and tidy beer garden towards the back of the pub up some stairs with nice views across Hebden Bridge.
The quality of the ales were superb, Iv'e tried a lot of real ales and you really can tell that they are very well kept here. Real ale tends to be a bit hit and miss, and many drinkers who came in that afternoon were offered tasters to help them decide, something that is always nice to see in pubs.
