Origano Hebden Bridge — Restaurant in Calderdale

Avoid on a Friday evening!!! I've never left Google reviews before but felt compelled to do so in this case. Origano is a great restaurant/ take away usually. However on Friday my family booked a table and after one and a quarter hours had received no food at all. The restaurant was extremely busy with take away customers who took priority over tables. More and more take away were cooked and served and hardly a trickle of food made it to the tables. The chef was working flat out and never stopped. However. After 1and a quarter hours we had only received our drinks. There was no communication from any staff, when we asked staff how long we would be, they never returned with an answer. I know of at least 2 other tables that felt the need to walk away still hungry. It's a shame, Origano is usually so good, with attentive staff and great food. I feel totally let down by my families poor experience. I know I'm not alone in feeling less than satisfied with my experience...

Have started going to origano on a weekly basis. Usually eat in, last week got takeaway, no problems...tonight very disappointed and will be giving a wide berth. Arrived at 545, placed an order was told 30 minutes. So, went to the coop arrived back at 6.05. Asked how long it would be as I was ringing for a taxi. Was told 5 minutes. Taxi arrives, ask again how long food is going to be was told in a minute or so. Taxi left as it was apparent it still wasn't ready.Obviously, something( I believe the chicken)had been forgotten. Rather than admit it and let me order the taxi later,I had to order the taxi again at 630,when finally food is brought by the youngest member of staff, I suspect because the the lady who is front of house didn't want to face an angry customer. I almost never post reviews (this might be my first on Google). I was recommend Origano by the B&B landlady. Having checked the general reviews (mostly excellent) I booked a table for 7pm on a Friday. I arrived on time and was seated promptly. However, after 15 minutes I could see more and more takeaways being dealt with promptly but nobody had offered me even a menu or a drink. Two staff just kept walking by. I left and went the pub next door which has a lovely upstairs restaurant.
