Rendezvous Bistro — Restaurant in Calderdale

I made my first and last visit to this cafe bar at around 11am this morning while on a bike ride stop with my friend. I went inside to see about ordering coffees and asked the blonde lady waitress who said she would come and take our order at the table outside. I'd seen a sign on the counter 'Cash Only' and asked the lady if this was the case. Her black-haired colleague behind the counter chimed in with 'I've told you that already!' I was taken aback and explained that she hadn't spoken to me before (clearly mistaken identity) and asked the blonde lady 'Is she talking to me?' and told her to forget our order as I don't need that attitude and rudeness from anyone. The blonde lady clearly embarrassed by her colleagues rudeness was very apologetic but I pointed out she didn't have to apologise but her colleague should. She had now moved into the back of the shop and was not about to apologise. Avoid unless you want to be treated by rude staff members! I've had to give it 1 star to post this review - that would be for the blonde lady in trying to cover for her colleagues...

We visited this bistro today. There was 7 of us on a day out. We went in and the owner put two tables together for us, no problem at all. We were given menus and we preceeded to order. The food and the drinks were served very quickly and efficiently. The food came and it was nicely presented, hot and plenty of it. (sorry forgot to take pics.) The bistro was lovely atmosphere, nicely decorated and felt homely. The menu choice was a good variety and the prices was very reasonable. Apparently the Lady owner has only had the bistro since April and I personally think she was doing a sterling job. Well worth a visit when in Hebden Bridge. Thank you so much for your hospitality, nice food and homely atmosphere. Kind...

Disappointing. The food we had was good (a halloumi wrap) the salad was fair. The real problem was the serving staff on our day of visit 15th July '21. They didn't acknowledge us at all when we came in and in fact ignored us for nearly 10 minutes before we asked for a menu. No smiles or welcome. We were then ignored for a further 10 minutes or more. A couple across from us who had menus left after not being served. We were on the point of doing the same if it wasn't for the cook/manager/owner who appeared and was lovely! He was trying to do everything but he needs new staff... flat entrance, tables inside and out,...
