The Bay Tree in Hebden Bridge is a gem for burger lovers. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for a great dining experience. The service is attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home—especially if you’re visiting with your furry friend, as the restaurant is wonderfully dog-friendly.
Now, onto the food! The burgers are simply exceptional. The standout for us was the Moo and Blue Burger—a perfect balance of juicy beef, rich blue cheese, and fresh accompaniments. One of the highlights is that they ask how you’d like your burger cooked, an often-overlooked detail that elevates the dining experience.
The seasoned chips are another must-mention. Crispy, flavorful, and expertly cooked, they complement the burger beautifully. Every bite feels like it’s been crafted with care, and the portion sizes are generous.
Overall, The Bay Tree offers not just a meal but an experience—delicious food, great service, and a welcoming vibe. If you’re in Hebden Bridge, make sure to stop by; you won’t be...
Read moreOur group has really mixed experiences here at the weekend. When 5 of us went in for a casual early dinner (4pm), the restaurant was pretty empty (2 other tables). The waitress was not impressed at having to seat 5 which was confusing to start- then it took a reasonable amount of time to order but the unreasonable part was how long good took to come. It was over an hour from seating to food, for 4 burgers and a reheated pie. Some of the food was really nice, particularly the vegetarian. But the pie special was not what was advertised and tiny.
We expected more from the reviews.
Edit- response to the owner: We ordered 4 standard menu burgers with no changes. The 15 minutes per burger does not mean you make 1 at a time adding to an hour, you can cook 2 things at once. And yes I think in any casual dining restaurant an hour for a burger is far too long to wait. The response shows a complete lack of awareness of how to run a kitchen.
The response shows the exact same attitude we encountered in person with staff too....
Read moreAfter a busy week my girlfriend suggested taking advantage of the cooler weather and taking a train to Todmorden and walking to Hebden Bridge over the tops via the scenic route.
Arrived in Hebden around lunchtime hungry and thirsy and chose the Bay Tree for lunch as the menu had lots we liked to choose from.
We were not disappointed, my Blue Moo burger was cooked as I liked it, was clearly home made , juicy and flavourful. Chunky chips made a nice change from the usual fries too. My girlfriend cooed over the butter poached chicken sandwich and was pretty close to ordering another. A nice touch was when we complimented the lady serving us, she went into the kitchen and brought out some of the chicken for our equally hungry hound to enjoy too.
Lovely place, glad we went. On our train home now with a couple of pieces of their home made...
