Second update as a reply to the comment (sorry): the price increase is more of a comment for the vegetarian menu as we don't eat beef. The Bhaji burger is our favourite but went up in price. We've also never ordered beer from you but I'm sure whoever did get the discount from you really appreciated it 😅 Update: they put up their prices and now we can't afford to go. £15 for a burger is a lot. I feel like locals are starting to be priced out in Hebden. 2024 review: With all of the overpriced dinner places cropping up in Hebden (most days I don't want to pay £17 for a main) the Baytree is a welcomed treat. Great variety of menu choice, dietary requirements, and many things made from scratch. The staff are super lovely too. Looking for a nice cozy meal without the premium? Look no further. Even on a quiet night, the meals are top notch.

Had lunch with a friend and we shared one of their boards. It was called the meat one and was basically a charcuterie and cheese salad. Very nicely arranged and very tasty. My friend certainly appreciated not having a pie and chips type meal although I believe these are on the menu. Could have used a little more dressing but I get that might be the voice of experience. Service was perhaps a little bit slower than I expected although the board was made up from scratch. Definitely a positive experience. Prices reflected quality of ingredients and labour involved. We had an early lunch about 1200 with one other customer in the cafe. We thought it a pity and recommend strongly.

Attended on Bank Holiday Monday April 2025, service was excellent, the menu choice is amazing, there is something for everybody, I went for the Burger of which there are multiple choices, mine was a freshly made burger accompanied with Pulled pork, lovely side salad and amazing chips. It is refreshing to eat a burger that is freshly made and cooked to order (medium rare in my case) All reasonably priced and the fresh cooked food and fine service means I shall be definitely returning. As an aside all the party I was with (7 in total) had same views. Cracking place and would recommend, you will not be disappointed.

The Bay Tree in Hebden Bridge is a gem for burger lovers. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for a great dining experience. The service is attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home—especially if you’re visiting with your furry friend, as the restaurant is wonderfully dog-friendly.

Now, onto the food! The burgers are simply exceptional. The standout for us was the Moo and Blue Burger—a perfect balance of juicy beef, rich blue cheese, and fresh accompaniments. One of the highlights is that they ask how you’d like your burger cooked, an often-overlooked detail that elevates the dining experience.

The seasoned chips are another must-mention. Crispy, flavorful, and expertly cooked, they complement the burger beautifully. Every bite feels like it’s been crafted with care, and the portion sizes are generous.

Overall, The Bay Tree offers not just a meal but an experience—delicious food, great service, and a welcoming vibe. If you’re in Hebden Bridge, make sure to stop by; you won’t be...

Our group has really mixed experiences here at the weekend. When 5 of us went in for a casual early dinner (4pm), the restaurant was pretty empty (2 other tables). The waitress was not impressed at having to seat 5 which was confusing to start- then it took a reasonable amount of time to order but the unreasonable part was how long good took to come. It was over an hour from seating to food, for 4 burgers and a reheated pie. Some of the food was really nice, particularly the vegetarian. But the pie special was not what was advertised and tiny.

We expected more from the reviews.

Edit- response to the owner: We ordered 4 standard menu burgers with no changes. The 15 minutes per burger does not mean you make 1 at a time adding to an hour, you can cook 2 things at once. And yes I think in any casual dining restaurant an hour for a burger is far too long to wait. The response shows a complete lack of awareness of how to run a kitchen.

The response shows the exact same attitude we encountered in person with staff too....

After a busy week my girlfriend suggested taking advantage of the cooler weather and taking a train to Todmorden and walking to Hebden Bridge over the tops via the scenic route.

Arrived in Hebden around lunchtime hungry and thirsy and chose the Bay Tree for lunch as the menu had lots we liked to choose from.

We were not disappointed, my Blue Moo burger was cooked as I liked it, was clearly home made , juicy and flavourful. Chunky chips made a nice change from the usual fries too. My girlfriend cooed over the butter poached chicken sandwich and was pretty close to ordering another. A nice touch was when we complimented the lady serving us, she went into the kitchen and brought out some of the chicken for our equally hungry hound to enjoy too.

Lovely place, glad we went. On our train home now with a couple of pieces of their home made...
