My wife and I were on a nearby stone carving course and staying in a Travelodge. According to Google, this was the only café open at 07:30 on a Sunday. What a great find! I had a large breakfast, and my wife a small. We also ordered takeout sandwiches for lunch. My breakfast, which, amongst the usual 'Full English', included fried bread and fried Spam. Most cafés now offer the inferior American option of hash browns nowadays. None of that cosmopolitan nonsense here. Just masses of great food. Neither I nor my wife needed the sandwiches until we were on our way home at 17:30. The sandwiches, a cheese and salad and a cheese, ham and salad, were once more huge and delicious. All that food and two teas were £20! My wife took half her sandwich to work on Monday for lunch. The service is spot on and fast, the staff are friendly and the café got fairly busy by 08:15. Ordered a Bacon and Egg barm and a strong black coffee. What I got two minutes later was a massive, delicious and done just right bacon and egg barm and a very strong black coffee, served with a smile that considerably brightened up my day.
