Really lovely staff, dog friendly, answered my nut allergy questions pesto contains cashews not singularily pine nuts (which are a seed not a nut).

Kids had kids menu... Hindsight i forget my kids ages lol 🤣 they are not 5 any more but 10 and 11 and 5ft. I should have got them and adult main. Thats defo my bad! I forget how big theyve got.

Kids: Kids mac and cheesr tasted good! Slight sweet like a nigella mac and cheese. Tasted fresh homemade.

Chicken nuggets and hash brown tots!! Winner my kids arent allowed that kind of stuff at home (im mean, i know!! 🤣)

My chicken club was lovely. Im not into mayo at all but the aioli (did i spell it right) was really nice

Husband had boar burger he loved it!!! It was sagey super moist. He said next time he would love it to be extra crispy!! He cant wait to return and have that!

Grandma had pesto chicken paninni it was a big one!! She loved it everyone elsr tasted it said it was amazing!!

Overall solid 9/10

Only feedback is maybe some more lighter options/ couple more salads/soups/ veggie stuff as its jan 👍👍😬 and were all on a diet! 🤣

Your younger lady servers were incredible! Shout out to them! Attentive knowlegable kind and professional.

Id love to come and try your cocktails!!

Thank you so much for today my family travelled from cheshire to visut and werre not...

Used to go here regular about 4-5 years ago before I moved away. I have been occasionally over the last few years when I come home to visit family and OMG has it gone downhill.

The attention to detail, menu and customer service is now appalling.

Went today and was not even greeted but told to go upstairs. The place was smokey as if the extractor fans in the kitchen were not working.

We went upstairs and had find our own table and was just ignored but the waitress. The specials board was not even completed and was written on as if they could not be bothered ‘ ask server’.

The menus on the table now look cheap and with black marker lines through non available items. The selection on the menu was poor compared to how it was previously.

We sat and waited 15 minutes and nobody came to us, yet the two waitresses upstairs were both at the same table taking order.

We got up to leave and as we did the girls on the counter asked for our table number to pay. We said we had not been served and there was no apology or an attempt to make it right, they just let us leave.

Poor service, poor menu choice and poor environment. Shame really as this was a little...

Let's start with the good:

Nice waiting staff, decent coffee & the jacket potato was good.

Here's the bad:

We ordered a chicken sandwich and my daughter noticed a hair in my wife's sandwich. Okay, not ideal, but not the end of the world. We brought it to their attention and the waiter was very apologetic & looked rather embarrassed. Of course, he offered to replace it and we kindly accepted. It happens, no big deal. We were told we would get a freshly made sandwich....

Okay, so two scenarios:

A) We got the same sandwich back - it had another hair in it!

Or

B) They made us a fresh sandwich and it had another hair in it!

Either way, they're either duplicitous in trying to pass off the sandwich as a fresh one, or their kitchen hygiene has a lot to be desired and hairs are in multiple food items in the kitchen area.

They offered us a free slice of cake, which we refused, and just asked for a refund on the sandwich.

Based on the odds so far - 4 items served & two with hair - there was a 50/50 chance the cake would have had hair in it anyway.

Completely...

Really helpful - put two tables together for us upstairs so three generations of family could sit together. Very generous food portions and good flavours. Only drawback (and why I've gone 4 stars instead of 5) was that we were never brought the ketchup/extra drink we ordered, but we weren't charged for them either. Would definitely recommend and visit again. (Picture is a children's fishfinger meal, 4 fishfingers, chips and beans )

Great little cafe on Westgate. Very friendly staff, great food, we both had a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel together with a couple of mulled wine's, which were excellent, the part owner, in the photo, certainly knew his stuff as he told us all about the mulled wine, but he did tell us that he used to specialise in cocktails. Sorry about the half eaten bagel, I forgot to take a photo until later. Definitely worth a call.

Amazing place! Really busy due to Christmas markets but as always step up to the mark in service and food as always! Sunday roast was a delightful welcome today and appealed very much on a cold afternoon! Seriously too notch roast for the price with seasonal veg freshly done like the rest of the food to a high standard! Booking potentially required if it continues to grow in demand for such awesome food.
