NORTHERN DANCE CLUB'S COMING TO THE HORSE !!! 12.11.2024, so be THERE or be ⬛️ square ⬛️ x x x 😆 🤣 😂 😹 We had to have chosen the worst or one of the worst nights of the year for this event but the show must go on as they say !! Not as many folk around as expected understandably but we had a brilliant night anyway and a few souling friends braved the weather anyway so 10/10 to all the people concerned for their good spirits and support. All are definitely keeping the faith 😆

I've been in here a few times including Xmas Eve and always had a lovely time except for one incident last week which although may seem minor has caused me to cancel a pre arranged booking & caused me a terrific amount of pain. The bars now run by a delightful lady from.The Wirral and she's done a brilliant job of cleaning this pubs act up so a massive well done to her . It's spotlessly clean, the bar staff are well presented, service is good and they have some extremely busy times & still keep smiling throughout. There's a brilliant outdoor seating area for both non & smokers and the security man is as polite as anyone could ever be holding the door open for customers. All in all an excellent night out & yes there sre other bars equally as good in town where you get a very similar welcome but it's very easy to just spend a whole evening here without bothering to trail around. My only small niggle is people with drinks on the dancefloor. I'd got up as I've been home for a few weeks with this flu bug so not feeling 100% anyway and decided to see of I could dance as I'd a big night booked the day after which will be all dancing. I was really pleased and doing OK when a young woman who was doing some type of "look at me I'm sloshed" routine, barged into me throwing half a bottle of whatever in the air. I said something to the effect of be careful & put my hands up in a stop gesture. She looked mortified that I'd told her off a bit I suppose but she'd really been playing it up. I saw her & her friend in the ladies 10 minutes later chatting away in a perfectly sober way ??!! What the hell's that all about 😂 ??? Anyway I did mention it to the doorman & asked him to have a word with the landlady as she wasn't the only one spilling their drink but I was jolted in this incident and I've got quite bad arthritis in one knee and basically couldn't stand on it the day after so drinking on dancefloors is a massive no no for me, its dangerously slippy afterwards and was cleaned up instantly by staff but surely safer all round to stop allowing it. This was awful. Went in with 3 friends to watch the F1 all of us were 21. It was 2pm wanted food and a Diet Coke. Was ID’d to even go inside which is not by the law, I did not have my ID with me but showed the first person who asked a photo of my passport. When we went up to order we were extremely rudely thrown out as it wasn’t sufficient. My ID was simply in the car and all I wanted was some food and a Diet Coke.
