✓ Vegan and Vegetarian Options WHAT I HAD: Fried Beancurd roll with prawn and coriander fillings [£4.50]; Roasted Pork (Char Siu) Noodle in Soup [£6.80], Vegetarian mixed vegetables noodles in soup [£6.50]; Cold Served Bamboo Shoots in Spicy Chilli Oil; Fried Vegetarian Dumplings (12 pieces) [£6.80 via Deliveroo]; Hot and Sour Sweet-Potato Noodle in Soup [£7.50 via Deliveroo] A café that offers good Chinese food and is popular with locals, always packed during peak lunch and dinner hours, which is no surprise at all because of the cheap and good Chinese food they offer! The menu is not extensive, but have a good number of different types of options like appetizers, rice, dumplings, buns, dessert etc. that is great for a quick snack, tea time and proper meal. Although they have a limited number of vegan options, I frequent here when I am in the area because it is one of my favourite spots for dumplings! The food all seem to be fresh and made from scratch, my mum was particularly impressed with the Roasted Pork (Char Siu) as well which was well made. It does seem that there is a lot of care and love in their food. Portions are decent too especially at their price point. The staff is efficient, friendly and attentive, very impressive especially in the tight space during peak hours. I definitely recommend Oriental Café to anyone for cheap and good Chinese food with excellent service.

It was our first time going so we weren't quite sure what to have. The staff were really friendly and helpful, they let us pick three kinds of dumplings and we just paid for the most expensive ones. You get 12-15 depending on which ones you choose for a reasonable price (between £6-£8). We both shared the dumplings and had a noodle soup each which came with pak choi, your soup option and (you can see how many) noodles. The dumplings were nice, flavoursome. Tbh the only reason this review wasn't a five was because my tap water glass had stains on it and it just made me a little uneasy, however, the food was excellent, 100% recommend if you like Oriental food, really good value for money, drinks were probably a little expensive but forgivable due to quantity and quality of food. The meal with the pic plus two drinks (one each, not the tap water) came up to £25 and this was a lot of food. :)

Me and my partner were particularly impressed with this experience. I would have settled just for the chicken dumplings (because they are absolutely delicious), but also got amazing service! The lady who welcomed us was very accomodating, allowed us to order egg-fried rice, which was not on the menu, so we could serve it with the dumplings. She was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Food was perfect, and the Bubble tea & peanut filled rice balls (dessert) were very tasty as well. Would recommend it to anyone, we will certainly go again.

A very impromptu lunch yesterday. We walked past and could smell the deliciousness. It was so busy, which is always a good sign. Lucky enough we got the last table, sat down and quickly orders. I had the Stir Fried Pork Mince & Noodles and my hubbie had Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken (no photo as he ate it too quickly 🤦🏻♀️) and both dishes were delicious! Its a very cute cafe, that’s serving, what feels like, good home cooked Oriental food. Couldn’t ask for more. Perfect for a weekend impromptu lunch and will definitely go back!

We had dumplings today for breakfast. I know it sounds crazy for some but it was an amazing choice I must say. We tried their pork dumplings with wonton soup. The dumplings were fresh, homemade and super delicious. The soup was super light and fragrant. The lady who served us was working hard with a smile on her face. I highly recommend this place. If you are still reading this then just get some dumplings from here and let me know whether you agree.

Best Asian food restaurant in the middle of Cambridge City centre. Food is simply unbelievable, especially the dumplings. Main dishes are very good and depend on your selection and this restaurant tries to unify many distinct asian plates. The place is tiny with deliveries entering the place every three minutes and that does not help the atmosphere. Another issue is that it is cash only but this is well explained in the front door.
