Diabolical service, we went in to the 200degrees coffee shop for a sit down coffee and cake while we waited for sone to finish work in the centre. We had allowed 35mi minutes just in case it was a busy day. There was one family in front of us so our order was placed in a few minutes which wasn't too bad. The young girl asked where we were sitting etc and said we will bring it over. I noticed where the people ahead of us were sitting by chance as we went to our seats. While we we were waiting I noticed a fair few People coming in and having takeaway coffees after our order but not actually leaving the shop and sitting down inside with paper cups. It wasn't super late in the day, 3:30pm with a 6pm close time. After about twenty five minutes I saw the girl that served me walking around and asked about our order and she said it is next in the queue.
All this time other people that had come in for takeaways were being served and leaving. Our son ended up joining us who naturally just wanted to go home but he was willing to wait since we had now waited 30 minutes for two lattes and one Victoria sponge. After I saw another group come in and walk out with a coffee, some 45 minutes after placing my order I had had enough and went back to the same girl who served me and demanded a refund. I was told my order was being prepared to which I replied I do not care since it has taken 45 minutes inspite of me chasing it at 30 minutes and continued to demand a refund so I could leave. She eventually started to prepare a refund and offered to prepare our order herself personally. I reminded the girl we had been here 45 minutes and been promised the said order twice already so why on earth would I want to risk another order ever again. I was given my money back (in up to 7 days) on my card and I Informed the girl that this would be the last time I step foot in a 200degrees coffee shop. I was past saving at this point after the first polite reminder for my order.
It's quite a bitter coffee here for my personal taste and on the previous occasion we tried the it the service was not that quick for really what is average quality coffee at premium prices. The milk texture for previous lattes was quite watery (std cows milk). I have noticed with these big brand coffee bars that the baristas are mostly young workers school and student age who don't appear to care about the coffee they serve. it's more a chuck the milk under the steamer and as soon as it's warm enough throw it in a cup. No pouring skills, no steaming skills and no enthusiasm for the craft.
I will never go to this or any other 200degrees coffee shop again.
And to pre-emp the canned response, the answer is no, I won't write in to you so you can fix it by offering me vouchers at a guess. Just fix the problems at your stores with training and better processes. The customer is not the problem...
Read moreI visited 200⁰ this afternoon and it's a coffee shop I will not be re-visiting. I ordered my drinks to takeaway - 2 iced drinks and a hot beverage. They were left at the end of the bar once they were made and didn't have lids on the drinks, even though they were ordered as a takeout. I would have assumed that the barista would put lids on them; I guess I was wrong. As I tried to put a lid on one of the drinks, it tipped over. One of the young workers came over and helped wipe the spilt drink up and, even though I mentioned it would have been easier to put a lid on initially, she ignored me and walked back behind the counter. On my way out, another member of staff commented loud enough for me to hear "its not our job to put lids on the drinks". At this point I was too annoyed to walk back in. I would have understood if it was busy in the 200⁰ but it wasn't, the staff were more concerned with why they were working this saturday whilst other team members had the time off and what time they were finishing. It's a shame really because the coffee was quite nice. Next time I'll spend my money elsewhere. Looking back on the other reviews there are some nice comments, but overall the negative ones say the same thing, there is no...
Read moreI've always been a fan of the chain, but I'm really disappointed with today's visit. Firstly, there were a few tables that needed to be cleaned, which we had to ask someone to do. Then there were hardly any sugars in the pots on the tables, so I had to go and get some more. Staff were more interested in going through songs on the playlist, skipping a fair few of them, and having a karaoke session rather than serving customers and cleaning tables. The coffees took a while to come. By that time, the cake we bought to accompany the coffee was eaten. Coffees came in paper cups rather than proper coffee mugs even though we asked to have them to drink in. We were not offered any spoons or stirrers either so again had to go to get them. Every customer was given paper cups which I would understand if it was towards the end of the day but it was only 3pm As usual the coffee was nice though, just disappointing service and that really does change...
