We recently placed our first order with Slim Chickens, and regrettably, it will also be our last. Despite spending £50, even after a discount, the quality of the food was exceptionally poor and far from worth the cost. Every meal in our order was disappointing, and based on this experience, we will not be returning.
The food arrived lukewarm, and the packaging was in unacceptable condition—soggy, crushed, and excessively greasy. The tenders and bites were extremely dry, and the 10 Boneless Bites Meal contained more pieces of crispy batter than actual chicken. I ordered Large Fries with all three meals, yet the portion I received was so small that I had to redistribute fries from the other meals, effectively reducing all three to standard portions.
The Fried Pickles were entirely inedible. While I expected them to be fried, I didn't expect that they would be excessively greasy to the point of being unappetising. Some were so overcooked they snapped immediately, while others contained little to no pickle.
Additionally, all of the food was heavily over salted, making it difficult to eat. Each member of our party struggled with their meal, and a significant portion of the food was left uneaten.
The Plant Based Buffalo Sandwich Meal was another major disappointment. I had expected crispy vegan chicken tenders with buffalo sauce drizzled over them. However, the tenders had been completely saturated in sauce, resulting in a soggy and unappealing texture. I had hoped the lettuce would provide some balance, but the portion was so minimal that it was practically insignificant.
The Texas Toast was also substandard—so soggy that it immediately collapsed when picked up, rendering it yet another greasy and unappetising element of the meal. Most concerning, however, was that several of the boneless bites were still pink in the centre, raising serious food safety concerns. I sincerely hope I do not fall ill from the small amount I managed to eat.
This meal was wholly unsatisfactory. I will be requesting a refund, as I cannot justify paying for food that was so poorly prepared and presented. Frankly, I would have had a far better experience spending significantly less elsewhere. Unfortunately, this experience has ensured that I will not be returning to Slim Chickens...
Read moreI am afraid I would not eat here again , even if the meal was offered for free. I ordered a 4 chicken tenders and fries meal. Thank goodness, I also ordered a vanilla milkshake . The chicken tenders where far too salty, high blood pressure issues? Please beware!. I managed to eat the first one, cut into the second and that is when that salt burn dryness in my mouth kicked in! I guess I could have spat it out , I chose to be a little more demure and neck some milkshake , alongside it.🤭 One of the most inedible meals , I have purchased in many months. There seems to be no taste to the chicken and fries, other than dangerous levels of pure salt. 6 grams of salt per day , 1 level teaspoon is your daily allowance. (Note; I do normally add salt to my food )I would love to know , how much of a my daily salt allowance was in that meal? I guess a months worth! Please ensure, the so called chefs try the so called food, they are chucking out of that kitchen. It is not edible!. I travel and eat out a lot and have no qualms whatsoever about sending inedible food back and requesting a refund . I am a good cook, If I am paying you or your establishment for a meal, it should be worthy of the price tag and edible. I suggest everyone does the same, if you cannot eat the meal, point out the problem and request your money back. Every meal that is left , please serve it to your people cooking it, they will soon mend their ways. Or maybe I have highlighted a training issue ? Anyway , I did not bin my 12.90 meal, I explained the issue and was given a refund without any issue. So thank you Mr Man with the dark hair, who kindly sourced me some cutlery. On a sad note, I did see lots of people snatching orders from the staff, without, even a smile or a thank you. Despite, me being unimpressed with your food, I hope I was graceful and polite to you all. I hope you can get...
Read moreWent with small child who wanted chicken for lunch. Food was generally good quality but a bit salty for my tastes especially the sauces. The overall dining experience however for us was not good. If no organisation and every person for themselves is your thing then it's great!
We ordered food, took table number to get table but with no queue for people to wait for tables, it was free for all trying to get seat. With a small child in tow it's hard to move at speed to grab a table as becomes free and no one offered any assistance. While we were waiting another family were also waiting to get table and after sometime left to go elsewhere. We got a table after waiting 20 mins and food arrived just over 5mins later, over 25 mins from ordering. So had we ordered after getting table we would have reserved that table for over 30mins before even receiving food. We could have got a table and then ordered but that reserves a table that someone else could be using to eat at and used the app to order (didn't know was this option until had table) and it would have significantly reduced the stressfulness. We did ask a member of staff about the seating and they said it's fast food and we don't allow reserving tables. Having witnessed first hand, reserving tables was exactly what was happening and 25 mins wait for food from ordering is not fast! But they seemed rather blank and despondent, apathetic to the situation. This makes me think this is a regular occurrence. A little organisation, or a clear wait hear for seating area and the whole service experience would have been...
