India Red — Restaurant in Cannock Chase

Upon arrival, this place had the wow factor it was a hive of activity it was busy and had a great atmosphere. The front of house gentleman had great banter extremely friendly. When we ordered our food there was 5 of us, 1 of our party only wanted starter as main and we got told by Abdul that we could not do this as it was Saturday!!!! Then obviously the mood changed. A customer does not have to justify what they want to eat. As Abdul walked away we did request poppadoms he just said how many. I do feel that his customer service was lacking somewhat and maybe a refresher course wouldn’t go a miss. Maybe it was because it was so hot in there, not sure if the air con was on or not. There was a wait for the food but probably because of it being so busy, when it arrived it was piping hot and presented well. We did have to ask for a portion of rice that we had ordered. I couldn’t help notice that when Abdul took our plates away there was no please or thank yous I found this quite off putting. When we decided to leave Abdul did cut in in front of me on the way but to be honest was not shocked about this behaviour. When we went to pay we were greeted with the gentleman as we walked in, we had a few laughs and great banter and conversation again. As we came to pay Abdul said to add poppadoms on as he had clearly missed them off. In reflection of his behaviour I would be reluctant to return as his behaviour, service and attitude did not make our meal memorable in a positive way...

Hadn't visited this place for a few years so thought we would give it a try on a quiet Tuesday evening. Poppadoms and accompaniments were very nice. Mains were ordered, along with a Rice and Naan. My 'Chefs recommendation' meal had 3 large pieces of chicken breast. When I cut into them, they were clearly uncooked, all being pink in the middle. The waiter was immediately informed and agreed with me, asking what I would like in replacement. My Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi arrived, with my wife almost having finished her meal. The replacement meal was very nice indeed. The staff were most apologetic about what had happened and with me not being the type to make a big fuss, we paid our Bill (no Tip) and left. I must admit that I did expect a small discount on our Bill, but all we had were apologies. This (ie. a fully priced Bill) we felt, was poor customer service, and the reason I am posting this review. Up until our Bill arrived, it was not my intention to leave a review, but the lack of customer service inspired me otherwise. Ordered on just eat at 7pm, app said would be delivered between 8.10 and 8.30. At 8.10 received a text to say delivery is running behind and would be with me between 8.30 and 8.50 which I thought is fine it is a Friday. At 8.40 I received a message from the app saying my food is on its way. By 9pm the app had said enjoy your meal and yet I still received nothing so I called them directly to see what had happened where I was assured that it had left and would be with me in 5 minutes. I gave it 25 minutes and called again to be told a similar story. I asked will my food be cold as the app stated it had been out for deliver for over 40 minutes I was just ushered off the phone saying they will be there. I said if it isn’t here in 5 minutes I will want a full refund. Long story short it is now gone 10pm and I still have not received my order.
