Golden Kitchen — Restaurant in Canterbury

The initial order came 25 minutes late, when I got the food off of the driver the drink was missing so he said he would call back and get them to send another driver which I said was fair enough. I then got inside and realised they had also forgotten to send the duck (the main part of the order), they had remembered to put in the sides for the duck but not the actual duck somehow! Then I called them and told them what had happened and they hesitated for a while before finally agreeing to send the duck aswell. After 2 and a half hours the new driver finally arrived and called me to tell me that he didn't know where to go so I had to walk 10 minutes to get to him. When I got to him he handed me the duck and large bottle of coke. The bottle of coke had a significant portion of it missing and when I went to open it it wasn't sealed so had clearly been opened before. All the driver could say was "noooooo, I'm sorry". But seeing as I'd now waited over 3 hours for an order that consisted of 5 things, of which 2 things weren't present I decided to just take the duck and coke and leave. The food aswell was incredibly disappointing in regard to flavour. Absolutely disgusting and I'm amazed that they would treat a customer like this! 1 star seems like too much...

Om and off Off I have been using this place for years , a while back I took food back because it was undercooked and cold even thoug I just live round the corner, they grudgingly replaced it . So, out of 8/1o meals I have complained twice because it was definitely not hot , cooked or acceptable.

I went in a few weeks ago, ordered a meal , the guy knew who I was , served me, took it home, it was fine,, actually it was pretty fine. So, a week later , phoned in an order early on a Saturday night, a smalll order, but an order nevertheless which I was planning to collect, so no delivery issues.

The owner informs me that he will not take the order because I complain too much, yet, he was happy to serve me mid week all smiles

It`s a pity, because the food is pretty good, but there is no consistency, etiher undercooked and cold or good

Sadly I wont be using again, because it seems to me that they have a take it or leave it attitude when it is not up...

I had Chinese food for dinner against my better judgement and I’m really not proud of myself. We were lazy to eat out so I thought to take away some fried rice and fried noodles which surely couldn’t go too wrong. But turned up at the restaurant and was swayed when I was shown a Chinese-only menu. In my experience such a menu for only Chinese people should be good - but I couldn’t be more wrong. The duck horfun soup was still edible, but the Mala chicken noodles was just oil and a pile of bones. I guess I had images of Tsui Wah’s Mala chicken rice noodle soup in mind and the reality shocked us all.

The meal was not cheap either. So in such provincial Chinese takeaways I would advise one to stick to safer dishes like fried rice and noodles. Meanwhile I do not know if the owner was having a bad day, but a little smile once in a while surely...
