Lady Luck — Restaurant in Canterbury

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago as a stop off for lunch before my graduation. As a group we ordered some cheese and bacon baguettes, burgers and chips, chilli and the vegan burger. The food was very basic but tasty and cooked well, and the people working there are really nice and accommodating. The place itself is great too, I love the old school rock bar vibe with the band stickers and posters covering the walls, the jukebox and a few retro arcade cabinets. I also love that in true punk style it supports leftist ideals, lots of anti-fascist rhetoric on the walls which is something I also feel strongly about. I hear they have bands in some evenings, so I imagine this would be the place to go for a decent night of entertainment and grub. They have a huge rum menu which was impressive and do an array of interesting cocktails, but I decided to go with a Motörhead Road Crew IPA (my fave band) which was amazing. My one criticism, making me take off a star, is that the food took AGES to arrive. Considering the food isn’t complicated stuff, waiting 30 mins for it was a bit excessive. Horrible little place. Food just microwaved to within an inch of its life, unfriendly staff. Needs a good chef.

Edit: Your reply is absolutely and completely untrue! I have no idea who you think I am but I have NEVER in my life been kicked out of or turned away from a pub!

Not only do I stand by my initial review, you have now confirmed my claim that your staff are unfriendly by accusing me of being a rowdy drunk and liar who is petty enough to ‘seek revenge’. I had your food on your premises and it was not good.

How you would know I was someone who was turned away in the first place is very odd; are you saying that you take everyone’s full names before telling them they’re not allowed in so that you know who they are when they leave a negative review? Either you’ve plucked these accusations from thin air or got me confused with someone else.

It’s astounding to me that you conduct yourself with such unprofessionalism and publicly lie about a patron thinking that will negate my review. I was simply unhappy with the overpriced food and rude staff but now I’ve been falsely accused and personally...

TW: I was touched inappropriately by a customer in this pub/bar and when telling the staff at the end of the night, they seemed bias in saying that if they were told in the moment of the occurrence, they could have resolved the issue and not any other time, however, one of the members of staff seemed to have been friends with the person who had touched me inappropriately and therefore the matter did not seem to be serious in their eyes. This pub is terrible at keeping their customers safe and i am extremely upset at the way I was treated and that absolutely NOTHING was done about the situation. The same person then called my friend a c**t and attempted to start a fight with him although my friend did nothing but say “sorry could you stop please” when the assaulter put his head on my friends shoulder without his consent.
