I want to explain my experience at this place. This happened on Saturday, December 21st 2024. I came at 14:20 and I didn't have a reservation and the waiters said there was still space but we only had one hour and we said okay no problem. then we ordered food and until 15:17 our food was not served. we tried to wait patiently until I saw someone at another table who came after we had been served food but none of our orders came. we were 4 people but none of the food was served. After we asked then a waiter came and apologized because our order had not been ordered with the reason that the internet was having problems. EVEN THOUGH ONLY 3 TABLES were filled with customers. HOW did they not realize our food had not been inputted? there were only 2 other customers besides us and they weren't busy either. what was very disappointing was that we had a 2 year old child and he said hungry Mommy so hungry. We try to make him calm down and play while waiting for the food to come until 50 minutes after I saw that other tables had been served food but we didn't then we asked. They offered a 50% discount but it's not about MONEY, we have a baby who wants to eat!!! Usually my child eats snacks again at 14.30. But until 15.17 no one realized that we were not served anything. As far as I know, usually in every restaurant always ask if the food is okay or there is a problem. But during those 57 minutes no one came and asked. And what's more disappointing is that we came to Canterbury just to visit, we didn't even stay there. So we had a limit time that we should have used to explore and ended up not visiting many places because we had wasted time at this restaurant. So if you have children, you should THINK TWICE if you want to eat at this place and for the owner or manager, please recruit people who work with paying attention to detail. If you work somewhere you have to pay attention to your customers. They passed by repeatedly without looking. There was 1 short-haired woman who looked at our table but didn't even take any action, She can see our table was empty without food. The staff who offered 50% discount was a man and the one who entered our order was a woman. This was my first experience in my life being served so badly and that made me sad because my Son was hungry. After that we looked for other food and we went to Happy Samurai, their service was very satisfying, the ramen and rice bowl came only 10 minutes after we ordered and the food tasted 9/10. The Korean cowgirl IS NOT A RECOMMENDED. I will give -10/10. Once again i tell you even you offered 50% disc but its not about Money. Its about we have baby who was hungry and its about TIME. When we came she said we only have one hour and how can we eat for one hour if our food still not coming yet till 57minutes we was there. And she said we only have one hour because we didnt have reservation so i thought its gonna be busy and full of reservation but actually its not busy because only 3 table with customers. Bad experience that i ever...
Read moreAfter an evening at The Korean Cowgirl in Canterbury, it's clear why this restaurant has become a local favorite. Tucked away on Palace Street, it's a vibrant and lively spot that masterfully fuses the bold, smoky flavors of Texas BBQ with the sweet, spicy notes of Korean cuisine. The interior is full of personality, with an upbeat atmosphere that makes it perfect for a fun night out with friends or family. The menu is a carnivore's dream, but with enough variety to keep things interesting. The star of the show for many is the low-and-slow smoked brisket, which is tender, juicy, and packed with flavor from its simple salt-and-pepper rub. Another standout is the Korean fried chicken. It’s double-fried to achieve an incredible crispiness and is a must-try whether you get it as a main or as part of a larger platter. Popular flavor options include the classic yang nyum, a sweet and tangy chili sauce, or the soy and garlic glaze, both of which are fan favorites. While the meat platters are a highlight, the menu also offers an array of other delicious options, from inventive burgers like the "Korean Smash" with bulgogi glaze and kimchi slaw, to hearty ramen bowls and smaller bites like the crackerjack prawns. The balance of flavors is what sets The Korean Cowgirl apart; each dish feels like a true fusion, not just a gimmick. Service is generally friendly and attentive, contributing to the welcoming vibe. The restaurant also caters to larger groups with its sharing platters, which are a fantastic way to sample a little bit of everything. The drinks menu is equally creative, with fun cocktails like the K-Pop Martini and, of course, the traditional Korean soju. The Korean Cowgirl offers a unique and memorable dining experience in Canterbury. It’s a place that delivers on its promise of big, bold flavors and a fun atmosphere. The prices can be on the higher side, but the generous portions and the quality of the food make it a worthwhile treat for any meat and fusion food lover. It's a culinary journey that takes you from the backyards of Texas to the streets of Seoul, all without leaving Canterbury's historic...

This place is for people that don't understand food, flavour ,service, cleanliness..
So near, yet so far, waitress tried, but was all over the place, un professional or inexperienced, Who knows
To cook meat to be so tender takes skill, so credit were credit it due, the decor is nice, quite trendy, so credit due there too.
Brisket was nice and tender tho
the problem is every mouth full of every every part of the ludricuous cow girl platter 70pounds in cost, tasted like it had a MASSIVE MASSIVE overload of salt, I'm not sure what the chefs up to be he/she does not understand seasoning food at all... It was not just over seasoned, it was about, 10-20 times over seasoned, so excessively much so that it can not be mistaken for a error of judgement.
Ordered some cocktails, they came out warm with no ice, they were not cheap, having no ice in the middle of Canterbury surrounded by pubs with ice machines that could help the emergancy, and shops that sell ice is inexcusable, not acceptable...
A bourbourn old fashioned was on drinks list, a personal favorite, wow, here we go...LOL
Old fashioned is Double bourbon over ice brown sugar orange zest and bitters.....ERR NOT HERE, they brought a double bourbon, no ice, no zest no bitters no suger....they was told to take it away immediately..... WTF...do they even know what theirr serving
Toilets were dirty urine all over the floor sinks dirty, this is not a pub full of drunks, it's a food establishment, f.f.s what are the management playing at....
If the management was changed this place could be good...very good,
as the errors are across the board, this is incompetence at every level, management need to wake up, I'd say avoid this place and go to saint smokeys up the rd.
We were dissatisfied at every level yet was not offered rectification...when the bill came we had to suggest it was altered, we was still billed for the "old fashioned" which was rejected, even so being completely unhappy across the board, we was offered 10%
SO NEAR, YET SO...
