We went for Sunday lunch today. The roast beef and turkey with yorkshire puddings along with roast and mashed potatoes and a whole array of veg was well received and we looked forward to tucking into this veritable feast. Unfortunately one of our party, who had just turned 90 that week began to choke and was having great difficulties. The young lady who had served us was extremely concerned, she obviously told Grahame, the owner what was occurring. By that time I had taken our friend into the ladies to prevent other diners from having to see this, but also to allow her to be private, Grahame came into the ladies to check out the situation. It was ongoing and not looking good. Grahame absolutely acted appropriately in suggesting getting an abulance, we hesitated, he then suggested he would take our friend and her husband to A&E. We had a dilemma as they were visiting from Edinburgh and we all know this can mean being admitted into a hospital a long way from home. In the end we took her to A&E ourselves and her condition was treated very seriously. Grahame we would like to thank you and your staff for the way in which you handled this unusual situation in the most appropriate way, and for the more than fair way in which you dealt with us paying for the meals. Had a few days away in carlise & stayed in the premier inn across the road & popped in for a good old pub meal . 1st class service & the food was to die for & it was that good we called again the next day & the kids meals are great too . Little lad had good old chicken nuggets but not like you get in other places they where home made & he loved them & the steak pie well just amazing & the next time I am up in carlise for a visit I will be calling in for a meal again . The staff are fantastic & the young lad who took the order was so pleasant & just remind him his t shirt was spot on . 5 star service great...

As a person who is of the older age I have to say that I have been in the premises on a visit in the past some fourty years ago, and I have to say that I have been blown away by the experience staff are very nice and friendly, food selection was excellent and a very nice place to have a nice meal. Beer selection was good aswell as far back as I can remember. I am seriously happy I was in the premises on a visit in the month of December and the staff were very excellent, and the service was excellent and the beer selection was excellent and top quality.
