Canvey Tandoori — Restaurant in Castle Point

Honestly last night was THE WORST SERVICE AND THE WORST FOOD I think I've ever had. We have been to this place a few times and the food has been good but last night was appalling, our server didn't know if he was coming or going we asked him several times to take our order and he forgot, we had to tell him our drink order several times which was as simple as 4 cokes.

Starters - poppadoms these were stale and chewy

Starter we had chicked chat on puree (all of us) this was the best bit of the meal but the bread was dry

This is where it gets worse We then asked for another round of drinks ...4 cokes the staff member picks up our glasses puts his fingers inside the glass then 5 mins later brings back the same 4 glasses (how do I know you might ask he took away 3 plain glasses and one "green king" glass which was mine) he puts them back on the table after his hands had been in them re full of coke again.

The mains came out we thought ok something to look forward to ........ well first dish served colour red chicken tikka masala and he put his thumb in the dish when serving it which he then took out and put into every other dish on the table including the rice so every dish had had his thumb in it with a variety of sauces and flavours.

He then proceeds to pour all of 1 of the peoples food onto their plate without them asking him too so that he could clean the dishes away.

All 4 of us have had funny stomach's since last night so I can only assume this is down to poor hygiene from our server.

and for those that think its because they were busy there was only 4 tables with people on them groups of 4 or 5 which for a Friday night isnt alot at all.

We will not be going back which is a shame as the first couple of...

Very poor service and food below standard, I am never one to complain but given my experience I received it needs to be said. Started with waiting an hour to be asked for our order, followed by not having prawn dishes at all which is ok so I ordered the lamb, which was tough as old boots, my husband ordered a dansak but it was full of sugar it was incredibly sweet. If anyone orders this dish it should not be sweet. The sag paneer was completely not fit for consumption and the sag paneer was the only thing we complained about only to have it slapped on our bill any way. Our experience only gets worse when we was forced pay cash when we didn't have cash on us despite seeing others pay with card. We was forced to go cash point. I'm speechless with the service and poor food and will never be...

Booked a table for 4 of us,we had to move tables as there was dragonflys near the table area & a spider on the wall behind us.we was asked if we wanted drinks,which we had to wait 20 mins for just 4 cokes,45 mins just for 2 starters & even then,the menu states you get 4 onion bhajis & we was given 3..then waited another 30 mins for our mains to arrive & when they finally did,it wasnt correct so 1 of us had to wait while the others we eating,and this was all while we was the only customers in the restaurant..the lamb curry & lamb bhuna was awful,the meat was chewy,tough & didnt taste like lamb.and for the shocking price of it all we will never be returning & definetly will not be getting it delivered..dissapointing & very bad...
