Was just passing through when I noticed this fish n chip shop. So me and my daughter felt hungry and went in. I was amazed how nice this place looked and the staff was friendly. They informed me they have actually been there for four years but due to a fire they revamped it up. It looks awesome compared to other chip shops I've been too. Nice tables to even sit at in the warm whilst eating. We placed our order and within a few minutes it was done. Upon driving back home the smell that was coming from the bags, to the point my daughter could not wait any longer lol. She opened her box n tucked in, I did say to wait until we got home. But to be honest.... Even I was drawn in, so I reached across and NICKED a chip.... OMG this was like chips used to be, back in the day, when my nan and granddad was a live . They used to get us on a Friday or Saturday treat. I am very impressed with our order and it was fantastic remembering when it used to be like when chips was wrapped in newspaper or a cone. I really HOPE that you never drop this standard of food or taste as this was definitely what food was like taking me back to my younger days. Thank you for bringing back some old memories. This has become my...
Read moreHad to be in Benfleet for a 7pm meeting, traveling from London, so best option: leave early and eat in town. So glad we chose this Chippy for dinner. Best fish and chips we've had in a while. Medium fish and chips was MASSIVE! I couldn't finish all of my chips there were so many, and the medium fish was a large anywhere else. For a Monday evening, this place was non stop foot traffic. We ate in, as we didn't want to sit in the car, and there must have been 25 orders in the time we were there. Seating isn't great but suppose most people get it to go. Definitely adding this place to my favourites list for when we're in...
Read moreSorry, they've lost the plot, fish still good, but chips were soaked in oil, the young lad dishing them into the chip holder, didn't shake off oil in any of the scoops he bought out, they were the worst chips ever, we couldn't eat them. Sorry, Howard's, my last few visits resulted in Luke warm, or loads of burnt crumbly bits mixed in, making only about a third edible, & today they were greasy. Half the fun of fish & chips is a freshly cooked HOT, slightly crispy chip. Short journey by car (three minutes) so they should be hot. Please turn it back around to the fish & chip cooked brilliantly, that we used...
