Visited here for lunch with friends. We didn't have any problems parking, we parked in a nearby street. Food was wonderful, full of flavour and generous portions. Two courses for just 9.90. I looked at the drinks menu for a cocktail but there were none which was a bit disappointing. However, when we were brought the dessert menu after our lunch, I did notice cocktails on there! These should be put on the drinks menu so that maybe you can enjoy a cocktail whilst waiting for your food? The young waiting staff were very attentive but I have to say I did find it off-putting that they were continually walking, hovering around. They are probably told to do this but the restaurant is small and you would easily grab their attention if needed. The restaurant was only half full whilst we were there and I feel it could be so much busier. Maybe send one of the lovely young staff on a cocktail course and get them busy serving more drinks. It was pleasant to be able to talk without shouting over music but there was a lack of ambience, it must be so hard to get this right but I feel a change of music is needed, maybe this would help add ambience. I will definitely return as you couldn't fault the food or price and the decor inside is lovely too. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Feel we have found a...
Read moreFirst heard about this unique, stellar restaurant from a friend that was invited to a little get together. They ordered take-away and I was sent pictures and thrown back by the food quality and the overall presentation. Might be my spicy tastes that are over obsessed with this cuisine but I decided to give it a try live so we decided to go in and see what’s it all about to be able to rate this restaurant properly. I knew the experience is gonna be epic I had this feeling and even so I was surprised by how welcoming, kind and warm the staff is. All the waiters are dressed in the same code and they repeatedly came to our table to ask how the food is and if we are okay. The service quality was how I rarely would describe it as “Wow” and they deserve all the praise. You have the tasting menu which includes both starters and main courses and it’s a robust choice with more than enough for two people to experiment and satiate your hunger. I recommend their tradition drink the Air Lychee Soda and make sure you try the fried bananas for dessert and the coconut crepe which was an absolute delight. Hats off for the waiters, the kitchen staff, managers and administration for the traditional specific menu and the impressing layout of the restaurant. It was an absolute pleasure and we will...
Read more16/8/25 A second opportunity to go to Malaya and once again we loved it. Taking friends who had never had Malaysian food before, they were open to anything, so we ordered a variety of things - all delicious. And once again with great service. I particularly appreciate tap water being constantly topped up without even asking. As someone who doesn't like sweet drinks or alcohol, and usually the designated driver, this gesture is very much welcomed.
16/7/25 I went with extremely high expectations after having wanted to go to Malaya for years (since it opened in 2018?). Well, those expectations were blown out of the water with my first mouthful of the roti canai. I've had tons of roti canai in Malaysia and elsewhere BUT the ones at Malaya were even better. I've no idea how that's even possible.
The service was fabulous. Warm, attentive, friendly, professional and just spot on.
The decor was stunning too.
I cannot wait to go back.
Also, thank you to the lovely man from Ampang who took a perfect group photo of the 5 of us against the gorgeous Petronas Towers and...
