Ocean Fish Bar — Restaurant in Castle Point

After just moving to the area I wanted to find another Chippy other than Pegotty's near McDonalds.

I went here last night for two large portion of chips and two battered sausage - it came to a reasonable £9.40.

It took me around 3 minutes to get home after collecting the food and I have to say I was slightly disappointed.

Some of the chips were under cooked, all of them were dripping in oil and the two Savaloy's were very hard, almost like they weren't sitting in water under the lamps.

To top it off this morning both myself and my partner have had awful stomachs. This could however be un-related, that said - this is the only foreign food we have consumed to our regular diet.

Not sure I'd be back...

Just ordered a Chinese takeaway from this place on the phone. They didn’t tell me it was cash only on the phone. So when I went to collect I then had to drive around looking for a cash machine. Just started eating it and it just tastes plain weird. Every dish looks grey and the chicken chow mien is really not nice. The most simple dish to get right. I have a feeling this is some reheated from yesterday. I won’t be going back again. Hoping I don’t have an upset...

This really is just a takeaway restaurant, there's only 2 seats to sit on while waiting for your food. The food we've ordered has been cooked while we wait, portion sizes are good & prices are very competitive. The food is always piping hot and the flavour is just perfect. I would recommend this fish & chip shop 😋 👍

Note, parking to the rear side of the shop is a paid parking area....
