My husband and I lived in Loughborough for 5 years and once Mount Gurkha opened, it became mine and my husband's favourite, 'take all our guest to' restaurant. The food and the service never fails, always brilliant. The price that you pay, fantastic value - once you taste their food, you will agree! The staff are always amazingly friendly and remembers their regulars, even got to know the chef because we were such regulars (unfortunately, my husband and I moved away for jobs - but whenever we're in Leicestershire, we never fail to stop by for a delicious Mount Gurkha dinner!). Whenever asked, the chef kindly adjusts my dinner according to my taste. Whenever I hear people going to or even near Loughborough, I always highly recommend they dine at Mount Gurkha - trust me, it is worth the detour!! My husband and I really miss Mount Gurkha and even though we have found a fairly good Indian restaurant where we have moved to, we have yet to find a better restaurant with the top notch combination of fantastic food, fantastic staff and fantastic prices. Mount Gurkha, my husband and I have a trip planned to go to Leicester and will definitely be visiting you before we go back home! See you in the not too...

Pros: Fantastic tasting food every visit. I always enjoy trying some of the more fringe menu items rather than the same items over and over. I've never been disappointed! There is a great variety available, with a fair selection of alcohol that's weight towards the wines.
Staff are very attentive, waiting times have never been an issue with service pace very acceptable, along with the oshibori type items (towels/chocolates) at the end of the meal.
Cons: The building is perhaps a little cramped, although I understand they are limited on the plot they have. I've no doubt if they had a larger restaurant it'd always be...
