I’m writing his review on behalf of my sister and her children. After having a horrible experience with another local hotel, I suggested they stay at the Premier Inn. My sister and the twins travelled from Georgia in the United States and I didn’t want to repeat the experience my parents had in 2008.
The hotel was only recently built, and we all found it highly enjoyable. My visit to their room I found it to be very modern, clean and comfortable looking. From all reports from my sister and the twins they had an exceptional stay with plenty of towels a clean toilet shower facilities.
According to my sister and the twins the restaurant and food was very good, which I can personally say as my wife and I have visited more recently and enjoyed an excellent breakfast. Our experience was very good and I have no doubt if my personal experience was any indication my sister and her family received similar. I did find some minor faults with the breakfast menu. Although the menu states there were some items available I didn’t anticipate that for instance the pancakes were not freshly made. Additionally the breakfast menu shows an option for omelets however when I tried to order a bacon and cheese omelet I was told that cheese wasn’t available in the mornings. Otherwise the price and service was quite good. For breakfast I would recommend the £8.99 all you can eat option for larger appetites, however the continental breakfast at £6.99 should...

The breakfast is excellent and you can pretty much get what you want quickly however the same cannot be said for everything especially the evening meal.
This is my second time here and both times have been difficult and involved speaking with the Management.
This time the service was slow and we had to look for staff (my video showed when I found one - there was a big gap before this). The food was good (no complaints here) although some items were missing (no onion rings or cheese with the burger and no chicken skewers).
To make things worse when we came to order desert, we were told the kitchen had closed and the manager would rustle us up something (not sure she was food and beverage Hygiene trained) so declined. However if you are closing the kitchen with diners who had already asked is it ok to order desert, at least have the customer service skills to let them know. There was only two other guests in the dining room.
Anyway, after a long drawn out chat we decided to accept a small refund and head to our rooms.
This should not happen and I think could be easily rectified with some form of training.
Ps the manager was very apologetic and helpful but it didn't make it a...
Read moreCouple of us travelled from Birmingham for a business trip. No one was on reception to check us in they seemed short staffed. As we entered the room it smelt awful and it obvious to whoever was in there last to think the same as the window was wide open to get rid of the smell. The desk chair had a huge stain. The ceiling lampshade had cobwebs. The spoons for teas and coffee set were dirty. The bathroom/ shower had hair in it. The toilet was not cleaned properly. The bedding was clean though. We asked if we could be moved but was told the hotel was full someone would go check the room out which they did which resulted to airfreshner being sprayed, the window reopened and the chair left wet from them giving it a scrub. The menu is very limited with a lot chilli option foods so we opted for finding somewhere else to eat for the evening. 7am In the morning at the serve yourself breakfast the serving spoons were not clean nor were some of the glasses therefore opted for vegan sausage and a drink I travelled down with using my flask. I know I will not be the only person from my group to leave negative feedback as their review will have the photos. The standard here...
