The Paget Arms — Restaurant in Charnwood

O STARS!!!!!! Worst service I have ever received. Bought my first drink of the night at about 8:45pm with approximately 6 friends. 2 accidently walked round the pub the wrong way and staff behind the bar were very rude and started shouting saying they needed to go round the other way and told us all that we were now only allowed one drink and we needed to get out? We all then stood not even 1 metre away from the front door finishing off our drinks when the same staff came out and told me very aggressively that we weren't allowed to drink out here and they wanted our glasses. We told them we just wanted to finish the last drop when they VERY sarcastically told me they would draw a picture to explain if I didn't understand? (I'm as baffled as you are). I walked inside to save any further arguments and as I did the man grabbed my drink, threw it against the door and started pushing me out... I would AVOID this place at ALL COSTS!!! Loughborough friends and family have warned me before but I didn't believe them! Hopefully people will not make the same mistake as nobody should be treated like this.

Bold white male was very rude and physically abusive, will be reported...

Myself and 5 friends visited The Paget for a few drinks on Friday. We've visited previously and have had no issues, however, on this occasion as we were about to leave, the owner Dave singled out one of our group members and became threatening and hostile completely unprovoked. He started off by telling our group member that he didn't like the look of him which he repeated multiple times, we initially thought he was joking as this had come out of nowhere and were taken aback. Dave then proceeded to threaten our group member with a knuckle duster and told our friend that he wanted to fight him, all because he didn't 'like his face'. We left swiftly after as we didn't want anything to escalate further, we're completely shocked by the vile and unwarranted treatment we received and will not be returning. The owner clearly has a screw loose as a grown man spending Friday nights threatening young students for no apparent reason, either this or he had been drinking more than he'd been serving, be wary...

This Halloween I went to this pub with my Uni friends. Now - I completely understand the rights to refuse service and the fact that not all pubs allow you to take in beverages, so I was in a way in the wrong, but... I had snuck a single beer in and immediately they took it out of my hands, smashed the full glass beer bottle on the floor, and very aggressively escorted me out. No negotiation, no conversation. Simply - 'This isn't from here is it, you best get moving!'

Needless to say my friends and I immediately left the place and took our service elsewhere. Again, I understand I was in the wrong. But the owners, or bouncers or whoever interacted with me were unnecessarily aggressive and shortly after my exiting I witnessed another group of Uni students being shoved out because the owner didn't like the look they were giving him!

I have to say, it's the most unaccommodating pub I've ever been too and if you're a university student I would recommend anywhere else...
