Chilli's — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Great food, clean and friendly. They even have Crocodile on the menue! It's a small place, open plan, sparkle marble type tables. Can be noisey, and it's up stairs so not good for disabled. We visited this place on Saturday night and it was also around the same time many were celebrating Bonfire night and we were expecting it to get busy later but it was very quiet!

Menue has been updated along with prices but it's still reasonably priced. A good selection of dishes and they are updating all dishes for vegetarians with Tofu and Soya as the alternative to meats. Well worth a visit.

Not a fan of the pink colored onion or the very bright sides to accompany the poppadoms but they brought out the more traditional (for me at least!) Onion salad so kept me topped up instead of a starter.

Plenty of meat and sauce, and the Tofu dish for our friend was very tasty and plentiful that she had to take a bag home.

Ahh Chilli’s, you will always have a special place in my heart. I was visiting Essex in 2022 from South Africa, I stayed right next door at the Oakland hotel. And I decided to order Indian food online, my goodness I’ve never tasted any Indian food soo well done before like that of Chillies. I used to order Naan both plain and cheese Naan and Peanut butter lamb korma. When I visit England again, I will make sure to get to Essex just to go eat at Chilli’s, great food, amazing service and great portions. I can literally taste the cheese Naan in my mouth. Had a takeaway deliverered yesterday 2nd March as a BD treat and really it was all horrible. The rice was dry, the keema naan was lumpy and seemed like lumps of meat? dumped inside. The King prawn curry had twisted lumps of something and the liquid was so thin almost transparent. The lamb biriame was fair and the Tika masala was just about eatable.
