Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Chelmsford

My daughter 'treated' me to lunch from here to cheer me up. She ordered via Deliveroo App. When our order arrived and we unpacked it we were surprised to find approx half our items missing. 2 of the items were possibly substitutes but no explanation one looked like a toasted sandwich with tomatoes(ordered mac and cheese) I can't eat tomato's as react with my medication. Luckily we managed to make a sandwich from items at home but not what was planned. I tried to ring the store to see if a bag had been left behind but when I rang the number from from Google maps got told phones were not available contact on line. We managed to get lunch sorted out. Not a great first order, not sure if it will be repeated. Last week we ordered from another well known coffee chain who did not have 2 items on our order we had a card for each item apologising for the lack and asking us to call in store for a free drink, this leaves a much more positive feeling about the whole experience than no...

My daughter and I went to this Costa and were appalled.

My daughter ordered a gingerbread hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Firstly her hot chocolate was cold. Secondly the barista put her marshmallows in a separate cup (when not asked to) and made her put them in herself. It tasted like plain, cold, effluent water. It took over 10 minutes for our drinks to be ready (keep in mind that there were 4 barista’s there).

We also ordered a chocolate hot cross bun which we were told had just chocolate chips and no raisins. But of course they were wrong and there were raisins in it.

Appealed by the service, quality and hygiene...

Walked in and never been here before . No arrows to say what way to queue so ended up queueing the wrong end . Was made to feel like i was queueing for a school dinner and made to get to the end of the line the other end .

Asked about a breakfast bap the server said on the end . She did not speak clearly and loud enough to hear her .

Very hard to hear in this establishment due to the acoustics so not friendly for hearing aid users .

Food was made and put on a tray but we werent told if it was finished or not to take and go and sit down . So it was left to go cold

I felt very unwelcome and the service was most certainly not...
