Olive Tree Kebab | Chelmsford — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Last night we placed our first order with the Olive Tree. We ordered 3 special keebabs and a chicken one. We assumed special was the size as there was nothing to say it wasn't just the size. When they arrived the special keebabs were ordered with no salad and no sauce but were covered with onions, peppers and mushrooms. My son rang them and explained that he had ordered plain keebabs with no sauce or salad and that his brother was allergic to mushrooms and was told well that's how the specials come ! My son explained that where it says special is where the sizes are and he assumed it was the largest and reminded the man he was speaking to that his brother was allergic and was told there was nothing he could do. I have searched the menu and nowhere does it state that the special is served with onions , peppers and mushrooms. One of my favorite places for kebabs and their garlic sauce is amazing! However tonight thought given my past good experience I'd try something new...lasagne...wish I didn't! It's currently sat in my oven because it didn't look, feel or taste cooked! Really disappointed and for the price I could have got one for half the price and better quality. The spag bol has been out of stock for months now so maybe they should consider taking these off the menu and concentrate on their strengths! Ie kebabs, wraps, burgers etc. 👍🏼 or sort your pasta stuff out please! 😫

Update:After cooking my lasagne in the oven it was actually quite nice! Unfortunately this does conclude that the lasagne is sent out uncooked and therefore I would absolutely recommend that these are removed with immediate action before somebody gets ill!! Please do not order the lasagne unless its confirmed...

If you have high standards I would ignore the rest of the reviews because I have eaten so many bad meals from here now.

Its awful. Use to order from here all the time 5-6 years ago when they actually had standards. Now I remember why I stopped.

Quality control in non existant now. You literally never know what you are going to get. Everything tasted weird! Incliding the garlic sauce. Not quite off but there is something very wrong. Had a lasagne and the sauce had a horrible sweet taste that I have never tasted in a lasagne before. Chicken meat was pretty old for the shish kebab. Honestly only reason I am writing this review is because this place was great it and they have let it go to pot.
