My wife chose this restaurant for her birthday meal based on other trip advisor reviews and I am really glad she did. We arrived early and were met with a really warm welcome by the little chap olie.
Having shown us to our table we were given drinks menus and allowed time to decide without being rushed at all.
After ordering our drinks we took our time over the main menu before eventually resorting to asking one of the waiter for help deciding between the options. I had the chilli squids and my wife had the se7en elephants platter. Both of these were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. For mains I had the chicken Noorjahani with garlic butter Nan while my wife opted for the Lamb Ada diya. Both were cooked as we requested. The side order of vegetables we were recommended beans baji which was out off this world never had this before and it went with the curry's realy well
For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding. Again, the presentation was fantastic and you could tell the chef and there team had taken great pride in the food they were serving. It tasted as good as it looked.
Throughout the meal olie and waiter's checked on our meal and showed a genuine enthusiasm to ensure we were having a good evening. They managed to do this without being invasive and their conversation made the meal all the more enjoyable.
We will definitely...
Read moreWhy does this restaurant have 4.2 rating out of 5? I went for dinner with my friends today. Once sat down, Mr. Mehboob came with the menu and while deciding, this man comes back to ask if we’re ready. We asked for little more time as it was our first time there. He came again and tried to rush our order which was very disrespectful and disturbing for me. He was very arrogant while talking with us. We also ordered coke and it was not sparking fresh. We had to call Mr. Mehboob again to replace and he was again very rude about it. Food was alright, not very good. Surprisingly, we were the only people in the restaurant.
Overall, my experience was very bad here. Will never go back to a place like this again where waiters have no sense of talking to customers and think that they can treat however they want. I wanted a nice relaxing dinner and all I got was disappointment. Will never recommend anyone...
Read moreWe visited Se7en Elephants again as we come to Chelmsford every once a month for business meeting. without a reservation early evening on a Tuesday, we were promptly seated as the restaurant was quiet at this time of the day. The service was first class, staff were very friendly, attentive, respectful and polite. We were served very quickly and were given great advice on menu options. My business partner has few allergic and the waiter was very helpful and aware of all the dishes and which foods to avoid. I ordered a hot chicken tikka Jhal with naan for my main and my partner had the mild Mango dish chicken with steamed rice, the spice levels were perfect, the food was extremely delicious and very authentic. We did not have to wait long for our food and we left the restaurant feeling very content. Fully recommend this place to eat if you fancy an indian...
