It's thought that Stan Laurel was a frequent customer at Sorrel prior to departing these shores to team up with Oliver Hardy. He found the ambience at the café uplifted his spirits to the extent that inspired his comic genius. It's also rumoured that principal ballet dancers gathered at Sorrel prior to major events to discuss and refine upcoming performances. It's reported that Darcey Bussel and Roberto Bolle enjoyed a coffee ☕️ and slice of cake 🍰 there whilst discussing what may be coming up at Covent Garden. Sorrel provides, not only delicious beverii and snackages, but an ideal venue to meet with friends. The peeps t'other side of the counter were welcoming, cheerful, and extremely helpful. Although busy, they found the time to answer any questions I had and proved to be the perfect hosts. My latte was excellent 👌, with a nice swirly on top. I regret (this is a really daft thing to say) that I wasn't hypoglycaemic 'cos the scran looked homemade and delicious. Methinks I would've loved to have ordered a cake or seven. I strongly advise visiting Sorrel to judge for yourself. I'm certain you'll love it as...
Read moreVisited here last night for a friend’s birthday and the food was absolutely delicious - we couldn’t stop talking about how yummy it was! It was a quiet evening so the three of us were the only ones dining the whole time we were there so there wasn’t much of an atmosphere but nevertheless we had a lovely time. Unfortunately what let it down for us was that after finishing our mains, we asked to see the dessert menu and was told the kitchen was closed. I completely understand it was quiet but what I don’t understand is taking bookings for 7pm for meals but closing at 8? It would have been nice to be told this and perhaps we could have ordered our desserts in advance of the kitchen closing? It is really unprofessional to have people dining with you and not offer them the full experience. Having worked in hospitality myself for many years, it’s just a no go! It’s such a shame because it left a sour taste on...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting what could be described as a hidden gem in the world of cafes. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was taken back by their stunning branding and beautiful atmosphere. As I enjoyed my delicious coffee, I knew this place was something truly special. It wasn't just the coffee that left a lasting impression; it was the overall branding and ambiance of the cafe that truly captured me. The natural lighting, comfortable seating, and amazing background music all contributed to a sense of tranquility that is often elusive in today's fast-paced world. And to top it all off, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. In all my years of cafe-hopping, I can confidently say that this cafe stands out as one of the most beautiful and memorable experiences...
