Elliot Oliver Serviced Apartments — Hotel in Cheltenham

Excellent service from the team at Elliot Oliver. Regular contact before arrival & very clear instructions for finding apartment, car park space & keys etc. Flat very clean & well kitted out with both walk in shower in en suite (bit small especially as no shelf for shampoo) & shower over bath in other bathroom. Both very clean. Comfortable sofa with large TV & lovely outside area if the weather had been a little warmer. Everything was clean and appeared fairly new. One of best kept apartments I have stayed in for some time. (coffee, tea & milk sachets provided but no salt, vinegar etc so be aware & take your own if you fancy a takeaway). Area would suit most ideally, as near brewery quarter (2 mins walk) and just off the high street. Plenty of food shops & mainstream chains in the brewery quarter if that's what you like, however the area of the high street near the flat was mainly takeaways and small cheap eateries with plastic chairs and tables. Ginger & Spice stood out. Excellent food, cheap as chips but very quick service (watch out or starter & main may come minutes apart). The only local pub didn't offer food but welcomed you to take food in or have deliveries there. Ok for many, but I do like a traditional pub with good home cooked food & that called for decent walk or taxi. Overall, excellent flat and value for money. I would stay again when...

I stayed at Flat 6, The Shortings for a 5 week period in March/April 2024 while doing a training course in the Gloucester Area. I don't think I could have found a more comfortable and peaceful location for my activity and I was very happy here.

The first thing I noticed was how solid the floor felt. I know that's not something everybody might notice but I've served my time in creaky floorboard B&B's with gloss painted doors, foosty carpets and showers where you can fit your whole body between the water jets. The quality flooring was all I needed to see and everything else followed - from the pleasantly decorated bathroom, soft lighting, great shower and extremely comfortable beds to the "as new" kitchen utensils.

I do a lot of cooking and really appreciated the thought put into the kitchen/living room area. The sink is deep and solid with good storage space and while perhaps not stocked to restaurant level it has everything you need (subject to my last remark below 😉) .

If I was to suggest any improvements only 1 would spring to mind and that is one of those large diameter perspex lids for the frying pan for making risottos and things that need simmering. Not exactly a show stopper but that's all I could find to nit pick about !

The apartment itself has everything you need and is spotlessly clean and comfortable. We loved the view of the river, the tasteful shutters and the modern decor. The parking space felt like an added bonus.

Great location for exploring the local area. It is perfectly placed for restaurants, bars and shops. In addition, we visited the brilliant Puzzlewood which is nearby and the fascinating cathedral - both well worth a visit.
