Review of Indian Curry Night at Exmouth Arms Pub, Gloucester:

"I recently attended an Indian curry night at the Exmouth Arms Pub in Cheltenham and I must say it was a delightful experience. The highlight of the evening for me was the Mulaku Bhaji, which not only satisfied my taste buds but also brought back nostalgic memories of enjoying similar bhajis at Indian movie theatres.

The Mulaku Bhaji served at the Exmouth Arms Pub was simply exceptional. The perfect blend of spices and flavors made it a true delight to savor. What stood out the most was how closely it resembled the authentic taste of bhajis found in typical Indian movie theatres. Each bite was a trip down memory lane, reminding me of the joy of watching movies with a flavorful snack in hand.

Overall, the Indian curry night at Exmouth Arms Pub was a fantastic experience, and the Mulaku Bhaji was definitely the star of the evening. I highly recommend anyone craving a taste of authentic Indian flavors to visit the pub and indulge in this delicious dish. Kudos to the chef Jedson for bringing a touch of nostalgia to our dining...

The garden is great as we all know, the staff are polite and professional. Trying to catch their attention as they scurry past with heads down not wanting to catch the attention of customers is challenging. The food they do seems to be good, but terrible choice. Nothing for vegans and even vegetarians would struggle. The menรบ seems to be stuck in the 00s, great if Burgers, Chips and uninspriring salads are your thing. Come on Chefs, be adventurous! That you have to pay everytime your order something is a bit weird and very inconvenient. You feel obliged to order everything in one go. If you subsequently want to order a wine to accompany your meal, you'll first have to attract the attention of the staff then go through the rigmorale of paying for. It's very likely that by then you'll have finished your food and no longer want the wine. They'll use the pandemic as the excuse for this odd habit which I don't buy. Great place for the town's boozers, not so much for...

We ended up in a bizarre situation where a member of staff (potentially the manager/ assistant manager - a male with dark receding hair) tried to rob us!

We ordered food, the food was delivered with an extra portion of chips - we said we didn't want them and asked him to check to make sure we hadn't paid for them, he checked, returned to assure us we hadn't, I then checked with another member of staff at the bar when ordering my next drink, turns out we had paid for them! Either he hadn't checked and just pretended he had, or he had checked and lied - either way, essentially he'd tried to steal money from us!

Bar drinks are fine - no better or worse than any other pub. They have 2 separate food menus: bar food menu and pizza oven menu - pizzas are good, bar food menu is grossly overpriced: quality similar to Wetherspoons at over...

Really nice pub. Beautiful interior, lovely outdoor space as well. For an appetizer, we got the large antipasto platte (not pictured), and it was so delicious and very generous with the portions! For our mains, my husband got the 8oz rump steak, and I tried the marinated Thai beef salad. The steak was very well seasoned and delicious, a great meal. The Thai beef salad was very good, however there was an excessive amount of the dressing/sauce. By the time I was halfway through the meal, I had to stop because the rest of the salad was completely drenched, and the dressing was very sweet. Maybe serve on the side for the future :) But otherwise the service was excellent, very kind and friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. The waitress even lit our candle for us at the beginning of the meal, which was a nice touch.

Had a couple of beers in the garden. Its a big garden and as it was a cloudy day, it wasn't too busy. Unlike a sunny weekend when its crazy busy. The service was poor as there was only one person behind the bar. They opened the converted horsebox bar, but for some weird reason beer is served in plastic glasses. Consequently everyone was going inside for drinks, which led to even worse service. The biggest letdown was the pizza. They have a great pizza oven in the garden, but the pizza was bland and tasteless. It looked and tasted like a frozen store bought one. I wouldn't bother going there again, as theres plenty of choice on the bath Rd.

I visited this pub recently with my friends .The food was excellent and beautifully presented. So pleased with the service . Very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The chef and the team made all of our experience an incredible one. Special kudos to the starters and the desserts. I would say the sticky toffee pudding here is a must try. The ambiance was perfect too. The menu is highly inclusive and great value for money. Overall I had a great dining experience and looking forward to my next meal here .
