Every bite I had felt like I was in Japan!
Probably the best place I’ve ever visited categorically.
Everything I had was truly extraordinary! absolutely incredible! The staff were so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable making the experience even better. Service was a solid 10/10!
100% recommended!
I ordered a sashimi rice bowl which came as part of a set. The moment it was placed in front of me, I felt like I had been transported straight to Japan 🇯🇵
You can tell just by looking at the photo. The presentation was stunning. Each piece of sashimi was elegantly and meticulously arranged over a bed of perfectly seasoned sushi rice, just like the ones you would find in Japan.
And the quality was Impeccable. The sashimi was so fresh, creamy, and glistening like an ocean in a bowl. My only critique is the portion was too small, but only because everything was so good that I wanted more!
I ordered a soft-shell crab salad as well. The flavours were nice, but I wish the crab had been freshly deep-fried or made to order for that extra crunch.
Definitely worth visiting and be sure to make a...
Read moreWent for lunch with my Son yesterday. We were SO HAPPY when we realised it was the same guys who used to be in a kiosk inside the Asian Supermarket. The food is outstanding, the staff kind and attentive. I’ve eaten sushi all over the world and this is the best I’ve had in the uk for a long time. I hope it’s a big success as I feel like Bicester is lucky to have them. I can’t wait to go back (the platters they do look amazing - saw some other customers eating them and gave me food envy!). We ate Inari, I had Octopus and Wasabi salad and my son had the scallop one (enjoyed it so much we ordered another!), we then had Half Maki Tempura Prawn & Eel. Tried some Nigri too. The fish is fresh and just the overall vibe is that the staff are passionate about the food and their customers. In fact, one of the staff could see me trying to teach my son how to hold chopsticks and came over and offered help and attached a clever device that meant he could use them. Not a big deal, but it’s the small things that...
Read moreWe ordered the Chirashi (sashimi rice bowls), which ranged from around £25-34 each. Right after we ordered, the whole place started to smell like vinegar. I assume they were just preparing the rice, and it didn’t seem to have time to cool down—it ended up a bit mushy and very vinegary.
The fish was alright but not as fresh or flavourful as I expected. The ebi prawn especially was missing that succulence and sweetness I was hoping for. The portions were small. On the bright side, it was nice that the meal came with miso soup and chawanmushi. Their hot tea was so bland too btw.
The strangest thing was that they didn't allow split payment. They claimed their card machine will not allow them to do that, bearing in mind they have a new-looking dojo card machine which many restaurants use and allow splitting the bill. They are being dishonest and neglecting the convenience for customers. Take note if you are going as a group!
Overall: overpriced, small portions, mediocre food, dishonest service....
