Attempted to visit this store today and had the displeasure of meeting the biggest pleb who apparently and to my surprise was the store manager. The man hasn’t a clue with zero communication skills! Genuinely perplexed how this clown became store manager of Gucci. The man isn’t fit to sweep the streets. I believe his name is Jack. Well instead of mr Jack being inside and running the store and managing staff little Jack was acting as security outside the store. He told me “you need to scan a qr code to join the queue but you can’t do this now as the app is closed as we are full, but come back later and it will be running again.” I had no issue with this at all but when I came back at 19:15, 45 minutes before closing I was not allowed in. Even though he literally allowed a couple in before me and no one else was in the queue this time. I thought it was very strange as I wasn’t rude so can only assume he didn’t like the look of me even though I had spent £3,000 in others shops. My prada trainers and sunglasses alone were a thousand pounds. Of course he wasn’t to know how much I spent but a real manager would see the bags and know that I’m not just browsing. Even though they shouldn’t judge sadly people do. Man just had a chip on his shoulder. I’m confident I make more money than most of the customers and definitely more than that chump of a manger. As a long-time fan of Gucci, I was genuinely excited to visit the Bicester store. Unfortunately, my experience in the men’s department felt like stepping into a tragicomedy of customer service. Every time I asked a question, the staff would vanish faster than a magician’s rabbit, leaving me to fend for myself. At one point, I was literally opening drawers and rummaging through items on my own, with a commessa inviting me and giving me a reluctant green light to do so.

The pièce de résistance? I inquired about a specific shoe size, and the assistant after checking and confirming that the size was in stock dutifully checked the stockroom. Five minutes later, he emerged with a story worthy of a mystery novel: the shoes were just in that moment sold. Yet, in this plot twist, no other customers had approached the shoes, let alone purchased them. Was it a ghost? A secret online shopper? I’ll never know.

I’m not one to make a fuss, but the lack of care left me feeling like an uninvited guest at a party I was genuinely excited to attend. While I didn’t leave with the shoes (or anything else), I did leave with the impression that this store could reach its full potential with just a bit more attention to its guests. I won’t give one star because I love Gucci and remain a loyal fan, but this experience was far from what I expected. A little effort could turn this comedy...
