Prezzo had been one of my family’s favourite restaurants, after this visit, not anymore. We visited prezzo bicester after our visit to bicester village. When we entered. First of all, the 2 people in the bar, one male and one female totally ignored us, so instantly it felt like they were short of staff and very busy, then after waiting for a minute or two, I was approached by a member of staff, we said we needed a table for 3, we were asked if we had a booking to which we said no. We were then offered a table and our order was taken straight away. Then maybe there was a change of shift among the staff members. After waiting for 10 minutes, the same staff member came and repeated our order to us because she was handing over our table to another waitress and the whole order wasn’t being transferred. Then after waiting another ten minutes, another waitress came in to confirm our order. It felt like staff cannot communicate between themselves and couldn’t even get an order right. I was surprised at the service in Prezzo. Another ten minutes later, the waitress brought our whole order including starters and main course at the same time. We had clearly said that we would like our starters first. When we said this to the waitress she thought because we had been waiting so long she should bring everything together to which I said to her by the time we finish our starters, the main course will be cold. Why didn’t she ask to bring everything together instead of assuming that we would want everything together. Then she took away the half of the order. We had to request the olives from our starters 3 times before we got them. And nobody even asked if we wanted to refill our drinks. By this time I was a absolutely appalled by the service. We finished our meal and the waitress apologised and after we got home, my daughter has been sick with vomiting and diarrhoea which has lasted 2 days. And everything else we had the same other than the prezzo meal that she had the other day and we are all fine. I am absolutely disgusted at Prezzo Bicester and you should seriously consider customer service and the hygiene of your kitchen. Rating one star or dissatisfied doesn’t even come close to how I’m...
Read moreWent in for dinner with a few friends, got seated and had to wait for a while to get drinks ordered, despite seeing staff standing around chatting. The one server, Helena, who did take our order seemed so rushed off her feet to pick up the slack it felt quite uncomfortable as a guest as we felt like a burden to her.
I ended up ordering the new pea and ricotta ravioli. However, when it arrived, the pasta was under-cooked bland and oily to the point where I could not eat most of it. My partner had the pizza and they thought it was enjoyable, despite the chef forgetting to put the extra chicken that they had ordered onto it. Thankfully, I was not charged for my pasta as Helena took it off our bill when she came to clear our plates and realised I had not eaten it. It was bittersweet, however, as she started poking my under-cooked pasta in front of my face with a fork to check that I wasn't lying, which I found quite insulting. She is free to check it when she takes it back, however doing so in front of the restaurant and my friends makes it seem as though I'm so untrustworthy that she needs to prove that I'm not just trying to get a free meal.
The worst experience by far, though, was trying to pay to leave. We asked the server, Gabriel (? unsure if this was his name, when we asked on the way out, he mumbled it as though he was very guilty) multiple times to pay yet were left waiting. After asking, we watched the server as he went behind the bar to drink and look at his phone for 5-10 minutes. We eventually got up to go as we were in a rush to leave, we felt as though we were being held hostage by the incompetence of this server in doing his job. We ended up having to physically walk to the exit in order to pay, which felt wholly unprofessional on his part for a dining experience.
Overall, I would give the restaurant a 2 star rating as the architecture and interior design inside is really stunning and the wood-fired pizzas are very enjoyable (If they get the order correct), despite this, it is entirely let down by the kitchen team and the incompetent...
Read moreThis was supposed to be a quick stop before heading to our final destination. We are sorry we stopped. It was the middle of the afternoon and we were the only customers. The staff we i itially dealt with were friendly enough. We ordered a starter each which arrived relatively quickly, so far no complaints. However, once we finished the starter, we had to wait a long time for the pizza as the chef had disappeared. We were the only customers still, so where had he gone? Once back, the pizzas were slow to be put in the oven and then he left again. My wife commented he's going to burn the pizzas and sure enough they were atrocious. How do you get this wrong as a pizza chef? We of course said we were not happy and they offered to redo it. But to add insult to injury, not only were they burnt, the spicy pizza which stated comes with mozzarella had barely any on it. No covering of cheese, as you would expect, just a handful of tiny circles of mozzarella no bigger than the pepperoni. The less pleasant waitress argued that this is how it comes, but finally gave in and asked for another with actual mozzarella on it. We over heard the conversation with the pizza chef and let's say he was less than pleased with our complaints. This all meant we couldn't stay for our pizzas and had to leave with the new ones in boxes. Saving grace was that the one nicer waitress realised the sub par food and inconvenience and comped the pizzas. At least this one act of customer service prevented an entirely bitter taste in our mouth unlike their pizza chefs idea of good = charred pizzas . Please check photos and you will see the well done pizza and the tiny specs of mozzarella, then find...
