We stumbled across this gem on the way back from a random day out in Stratford Upon Avon and a stay at Warwick. We was trying to find somewhere that could fit us in at 3pm for Sunday roast. They managed to get us a table, so we headed over. They seated us fairly quickly and brought us the menus, then took around 20-25 minutes to come and take our drinks order but we were ready to order our mains by then. Our fault really, cause we was already hungry and we know we was after a roast, so could have ordered straight away, when being seated. They had a large group in (a table of approx 12), plus a table of 6, so could have been some of the delay, loads of people outside, as an unusually warm day for October and sport was on. The waitresses were all lovely and very caring, only scored down, cause I had to chase my olives and the wait of the food order. The size of my olive portion was extremely small, they came out in the little white sauce pot container, there was 2 garlic cloves, a piece of dried tomato and approx 8 olives, I was expecting something the size a ramekin dish and approx double that for nearly £3, however, they were very tasty. Omg the food was AMAZING!!! Best roast I've had in ages! We both had the beef and wasn't disappointed, we ordered a side of cauliflower cheese, which was also cooked perfectly! Everything was delicious, my 1 criticism is the long steam broccoli, should have been cut a little smaller, as a little tough towards the ends but I wouldn't eat that anyway, i just accidentally ate too far down, as was enjoying my food so much lol and maybe a pot of Gravy for the table, as I like a bit for my Yorkshire but I don't want it to be soggy, so needs to be poured on and eaten lol. That's a personal preference of course. Also the roast is so reasonably priced and a lot for your money! A wonderful meal and a place I would 100% recommend, I would definitely visit again, if I was...
Read moreWe stumbled across this pub when we were looking for a pub stop in the camper. The pub was very busy and lively with a great atmosphere when we arrived. It was quiz night and the gentleman on the phone explained it would be a full pub when we got there but it would quieten down. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and we stayed all night.
After the quiz finished we ordered food, yes it was a little late but we waited to order as the pub was full. It was quick coming out and what we got was nice, however our meals should have been served with salad but came with nothing and it wasn’t mentioned on ordering that they had ran out, along with the pie which should of been shortcrust and it was a pukka pie. The meals were nice but I would have liked the option to add something else to my meal.
As I said we stayed right till the end and the staff were very accommodating and friendly.
As for the stay it served the purpose but if you’re stopping in the week it is a busy car park through the night with vans, rubbish trucks and then the school run at 8.30am. The pub opens at 10 but workmen started at 9. Now I know that’s not early at all, it’s just an observation, but no one rushed us and we were not bothered by anyone, we didn’t...

Environment: We've started going out after Covid. Whilst we all appreciate the new recommendations are bit of a pain, they are absolutely necessary. The guys here have done a good job and are doing the right things: pre-booked tables, one way system, hand sanitiser on entry, temperature testing on entry, well spaced out tables.
Service: Friendly welcome and everything explained. The place was packed (Tuesday evening for EOTHO) and the staff were really busy, but they all had time to listen and spend a little time chatting and being welcoming.
Food: It's a pub on an estate, not a full on restaurant. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much and I've had some shocking food at other places. We ordered from the table via WhatsApp to avoid queuing at the bar. Worked really well. I had a chicken and mush pie and chips; pie was great, chips were awesome and I had a gravy boat to myself. My wife had a veg tart with extra salad, which she said was lovely and crunchie and fresh. Nice couple of pints of Hobgoblin which appeared to be kept well.
All in all a great experience and I shall be visiting again. ...
