Afat's Grill — Restaurant in Chesterfield

A cold night and this restaurant does not have a functioning self closing door. We were about the first in but instead of us being seated away from the door we were right next to it, obviously within the next hour the place began to get busy and the door opened - and was left open on fourteen occasions. I personally got up to close the door on three occasions. The other tables coming in, with the same number of customers as our table, were shown to places away from the door and for them it would have been nice and cosy. My question is why our table was not seated further inside the restaurant and then it could have been back filled? Anyway, not a great experience. I had the prawn starter which was no great shakes as they used the prawns that struggle to go pink when heated and are quite rubbery, for nearly eight pounds I would have expected a few king prawns (4/5 would have probably filled the dish I was given. The sauce supplied with the prawn starter was okay. For main I had the mixed grill which was excellent, great charred pieces of lamb and chicken with a great salad, there was nothing that wasn't good on the plate. Would suggest you skip the starters as there is ample on the mains anyway. Service was good, just the lack of attention to the needs of the customer let...

Unfortunately we ordered from Afats Grill about a week ago.

The delivery driver was pleasant. That's the good stuff done.

I called the restaurant and was told they'd call back later.

The manager called and apologised for missed food, he claimed they'd had two orders at the same time and got the starters mixed up. Whilst it's a shame they get overwhelmed having two orders, I understand that these things can happen. He offered a credit on our next order or extra portions next time. I informed him I wouldnt be ordering in future because the food was cold. He said 'impossible!' instantly, and started to claim that they only had one order (mine) and the food had gone out straight away - so at some point he'd lied. I told him the food was in front of me and was cold. I told him I'd asked Just Eat for a refund and he hit the roof, telling me I'll never get a refund.

Why should my pregnant wife eat cold food? Why should my two year nearly eat a shard of metal? Why should we be shouted at for telling the restaurant that the food is cold?

After being recommended by work colleagues who had recently been here,it was decided to give Afats Grill a try for a Christmas meal outing .The lunch time booking was made by our company for our party group of 8.The restaurant inside seating area was very clean & spacious with a few tables outside on the narrow decking area at the front for when the weather is nice.The Staff on duty were very welcoming & pleasant throughout our visit.After viewing the extensive choices available on the menu,our drinks & main meal orders were taken (nobody went for a starter)..A couple of complementary olives/gherkins plates with warm bread slices in baskets were then kindly provided .The Main Meals came along which were very tasty huge portions which everyone enjoyed.The dessert menu was requested but It was a shame as I myself didn't have any room afterwards for a pudding,4 others in the group did & their choices looked very nice .In general everyone did enjoy the occasion.I would also recommend a visit, maybe its not the cheapest of places to dine out at & you can be over faced by the massive portions but the dishes were very delicious.Payments can be made by...
