First time to Nando's in years. What a mistake to return.
We were made to stand in the rain outside to check in on our phones and join the virtual queue, even though there were two tables eating inside and no one else entering the restaurant.
We were seated and explained to order everything on the phone and if we needed help to ask.
We ordered the halloumi for starters then the boneless sharing platter for two with 4 regular sides.
The starter arrived with no issues and was pretty tasty, then the mains arrived. We asked the delivery waitress (which later I gathered was actually one of the chefs, so no idea where the floor staff were) for more water, then some sauces, we then had to ask her for the plain chips to be salted with the peri peri salt (as paid for). A bowl of peri peri salt was provided for us to finish the chef's job. The chips tasted like they had been sent out on somebody's plate at midday (this was around 3pm) taken back and sat under the hot lights until our order came in.
Eating away at our main, we then noticed our 4th side wasn't there. As all the staff were behind the bar/kitchen area and had had no intentions of leaving that area, I had to walk over and wait to be noticed (as all waiting staff had their backs to the restaurant). I was told it was on it's way and as promised, within minutes the forgotten, barely grilled garlic bread arrived.
We finished up our food and left, without another interaction from a staff member, in a very empty restaurant. No goodbyes or thanks. Very poor service.
I've heard people say, "The best thing about Nando's is the sauce."
I'll now say, "The only good thing about Nando's is the sauce.
And now you can get it in the shops, you don't have to go."
And I...
Read moreMy wife and I recently visited the Chesterfield branch on 4th May 2025 prior to attending a film at Cineworld. Upon arrival, we were informed that chicken breasts were unavailable; however, this did not affect our order. We were seated at our table, and I proceeded to place our order via the application.
My wife typically orders half a chicken. The application indicated that whole, half, and quarter chickens were unavailable. Upon approaching the counter, a staff member explained that these items had run out but were being prepared and would take approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Given our scheduled cinema engagement, I opted to order chicken wings for my wife instead, and I also ordered chicken wings for myself through the application.
After a wait of 30 minutes, our order had not been served. We observed what appeared to be my wife’s chicken wings on the hot counter for approximately ten minutes. Upon my second visit to the counter, I was informed that chicken wings were also unavailable and were being cooked. I explained that we could no longer wait and requested a refund. I was informed that the manager would attend to me shortly. I must express my disappointment, as I would have expected the manager to address the situation promptly in the interest of good customer service but was told the manager would be out shortly..
The manager subsequently processed a refund for my order and offered a gesture of goodwill, for which I provided my email address, with the understanding that I would receive a complimentary meal voucher from Nando’s.
Overall, this experience was quite unsatisfactory. We spent 40 minutes in the restaurant without receiving any food and were obliged to leave hungry to...
Read moreSo I went to Nando’s with my family for my birthday as I usually like the food. I regret it. Firstly the servers whilst not overtly rude were not friendly at all either. I am disabled and have a stick, they placed us in tightly packed tables even though they did have a booth or two free. I struggled to get sat and knocked into the tables and nobody cared, I did say something before about it being a struggle but staff seemed indifferent and unbothered. They didn’t have any butterfly chicken and didn’t even tell us until we had already ordered it and everyone else’s food. Not only that when they had already brought the food out they said “we don’t have any butter for the corn is that ok?” No but what can we do. They could’ve mentioned this when they finally told us about the chicken being out of stock. We tried to make the best of it as it was my birthday and there was a child with us. We couldn’t find the natas on the app to order (maybe another thing out of stock?) so we decided to head over to the tills to order desert to go. We were waiting patiently and then told in a rude manner that another man was ahead of us (he wasn’t) the queue must’ve split as it isn’t obvious where to stand. We didn’t bother getting dessert in the end after all the things that were wrong. I don’t think I’ll bother coming to Nando’s at all and certainly not for my birthday again, hostile environment and half the items missing/ out of stock/ not on the menu. It was a rubbish experience for me and put a dampener on my day. My mum suggested delivery next time and I said no as last time they missed my garlic bread off the order and...
