Family afternoon out was ruined by an extremely rude employee.

My family and I went to the park for a day out and stopped by the cafe to relax a bit. I purchased ice cream from the shop across the courtyard and my sister went into Ambio to purchases the adults coffees. Whilst we were sat outside an employee came out and (condescendingly) informed us that the seating was for Cafe customers only, which we knew already, due to the large obnoxious signs placed on every single seat. We explained that we were sorting the kids and were coming inside to purchase hot drinks now. She then stated again "This seating is for customers only, it's not busy now, but if it was, you have to leave". Again, we explained we were buying drinks at right that minute (my sister was already queuing), to which she replied "she better be, or you'll have to leave". Less than a quarter of the tables were occupied, including us, so there wasn't a demand for seating, that would be off putting to other customers.

The overall attitude of the staff was awful, made our whole group feel awkward and put a stain on what was meant to be a nice ice cream break. When my sister returned with our drinks and we told her, she stated that the staff inside were rude also, sighing at her order, asking "are you done now" and rolling their eyes.

We resolved to just have our drinks and leave as quickly as we could. In the maybe 10 minutes it took us to finish up, a younger male employee kept coming to the door, staring our group down and then returning inside to inform the original employee. He did this maybe 4 times during our whole stay. We left as quickly as we could and will...

Just visited today. Very expensive and shocking service. Between myself and my sister we spent £50. Our order was wrong and elements were missing along with dirty cups.we asked 2 members of staff about missing items but was ignored. By the time they materialised some of our group had finished eating. To be fair the manager came over and was apologetic and offered the children a free cake, which was quickly altered to a free cheaper icecream and a latte. When the correct order arrived it was evident that it was on the same plate as we had eaten all the tomatoes on its first outing...surprisingly the chips contained uncooked frozen chips! When we raised these issues again, and expressed our annoyance the manager stated she had done all she could.in other words...shut up and accept the gesture... For the money service and attitude we will not be returning or recommending. Avoid especially...

Really disappointed with our most recent visit for our mother's birthday afternoon tea. Rang to book a table but was advised I need not book and getting a table was no problem at all. I personally found the staff to be rude and off handed rushing us to make desert choices and not informing us properly of the menu selections. We had to pay large additional charges for our latés of which we was only advised about after drinking them. The food was a touch stale with our scones rock hard and sandwhices to think with cheap tasting butter/marg. Really disappointed as we normally love visiting the cafe and won't be visiting again...

It's difficult to review here actually because the cafe building itself was fantastic inside and out. The staff were very polite and hardworking and the menu was fine. Eggs Ambio was brilliant, such a well crafted dish that was actually a joy to eat. The dogs in a food establishment just wasn't great and made the furnishings and carpets dirty and hairy. Didn't like that at all. Also, the wife's cheese savoury sandwich was just the most bizarre sandwich variant ever as it was the only cheese savoury to feature mixed chopped peppers and a very runny sauce like filling that squirted and dripped out everywhere from the first bite to the last.

A winters day visit. The cafe felt cosy and staff were happy to welcome us into their warm establishment, following a snowy walk around the park. They were friendly, professional and efficient. A toasted teacakes with butter and jam was £4.50. The pot of tea was enough for me to have 3 x cups. Menu is extensive with a range of choices available. A choice of Puppacchinos was also available - cream with treat, ice cream or cup of mixed treats. All at 50p per cup. It was a must! I highly recommend this cafe if you are ever in the Astley Park area. I have never been able to fault it !

Slightly upmarket café. Ideal place to stop, rest and treat yourself. There's a great selection of cakes to go with a tea, coffee or hot chocolate (with whipped cream and marshmallows). Hot food is good too particularly the soups. Soft drinks are available; the usual fizzy junk plus a few 'adult' bottled drinks, like lightly sparkling elderflower if you're feeling posh. The lovely outdoor seating is within the old, red brick stable courtyard. Staff are efficient, polite and helpful.
