THERE'S AFTERNOON TEA THEN THERE'S LUCIANO'S AFTERNOON TEA Luciano’s in Chorley was recommended to me by someone, and at times when someone says this place is the best around & when you go it turns out to be not so good. However, on this occasion this was a top recommendation. Luciano’s is an Italian restaurant but with a twist. They open for breakfast then go through all the way to dinner. If you are looking for your standard bacon or sausage toastie, then head to your local café, if you want a full stomach with the Italian version of breakfast then this is place for you. We went to Luciano’s for 14.00 for an afternoon tea, and OH MY GOD, without even thinking about it, this was the best afternoon tea my wife had ever had. It’s not your everyday boring plain, ham, egg & tuna etc etc triangle sandwiches, little cakes that wouldn’t fill your finger. Luciano’s afternoon tea will leave looking at this monster and thinking, oh I hope they allow me to take the rest home. (luckily for us they do) Luciano’s you get panini’s and a nice choice of fillings and believe me, they are massive, filled so much one bite the contents spills. These panini’s came very freshy cooked, hot and tasted only the way the Italian’s make them, they where so filling and massive, we had to take all the cakes home. After also looking at the rest menu you will completely spoiled for choice. The décor is just perfect, and atmosphere perfect. All staff where very helpful always smiling. Luciano’s is a place where you will defiantly go back again and again and take your family friends with. There are 2 major points that I feel need to be addressed. Luciano’s is not for your cheap eats, it is on the more costly side, but you pay what you get for. Afternoon tea for £40.00 is not cheap, but well worth every penny. Another way to look at it, yes pricey, but portions are massive you might save a little money as you might not want to eat for the rest of day….we didn’t well we did for take home cakes, but hey…..”there’s always room for cake” My last point is the bad one. For great reviews Luciano’s gets and its impressive menu and food cooked to perfection. On our afternoon tea, they included a 10% service charge, which wasn’t on the menu explaining this and this is my opinion is very wrong. Not everyone will have as good as experience as my wife & had and wouldn’t want to leave any service charge. If you had a party say of 6 people, with starters, mains, desserts and drinks, I’m thinking most people just look at final amount and pay and then add on extra for good service they would have received without realising this service charge had already been added, so be careful always check your bill. So if Luciano’s restaurant read this, I think you need to highlight the service charge out. Apart from that, you will not be disappointed……….that is 100% for sure

At the end of October 2022, I attended a leaving do for a colleague at LUCIANO'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT in Chorley and I was blown away by the quality of the food, so much so that I took my family for a meal there tonight (05/11/2022). . We ordered the following: DRINKS - A large mocha, A non-alcoholic Raspberry Virgin Mojito and 2 appletizers for the children. STARTERS - Cestino di pane and a Garlic bread with mozzarella. MAINS - Pizza Vegana with extra prawns and Olives, Pizza Margherita with extra pineapple and olives, 2x Pizza Margherita with olives and two portions of French fries. DESSERTS - 2x Tiramisu (non alcoholic and Halal), a Pistachio Canoli and a Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Me and my better half visited Florence and travelled through Tuscany in 2005, and the exquisitely rich tasting Garlic Breads and Pizzas we were served here, evoked fond old memories from those days. We were surprised to learn that the Tiramasu was Halal and so we ordered two portions of that which turned out to be the best dessert ever. The food was slightly over-priced costing us £120 in total, including a service charge of £10 but I didn't mind parting with the amount because not only was the food gorgeous, the restaurant was clean and the waiters were brimming with smiles, ever so attentive and bending over backwards to ensure they made our experience that much more special. This restaurant is a gem that has been nestled away behind the Reel Cinema and adjacent to Sports Direct. Luciano's needs to be visited by couples and families to be appreciated for what it is - Highly recommended - 10/10 #lucianosatchorley, #italianfood, #pizza, #garlicbread, #tiramasu, #canolini, #mocha, #chorley,

Decent atmosphere of a restaurant but maybe too noisy for those looking for a more intimate night . Service was generally good although it wouldn't be my choice to have 5 different service staff. I had the £29 steak ,chips and pepper sauce with a £5 green leaf side salad . The steak was cooked perfectly how I'd asked for it ,the chips were decent and side salad ok however I had to send the pepper sauce back . It tasted like it looked, boiled watery pale milky with hard peppercorns floating in it . I tasted it before adding to my steak thankfully. After sending it away with one waiter I was approached at the table by another older waiter who was quite passive aggressive asking me to explain exactly what was wrong with the sauce so I told him . He looked dismissive with no apology. Then a third even more mature waiter passed asking what was wrong so I explained again . He offered me a different sauce and I said I would try the mushroom sauce instead . A soup bowl arrived and squashed onto the small table at the side of me. Again the sauce was jus like in consistency instead of creamy but tasted ok in comparison to the pepper sauce but still far from good . I mentioned the cost of my meal as I think restaurants need to know that when charging £34 for steak ,chips sauce and side salad they should perhaps taste the sauces they are serving . I did in fact ask if they had tasted the sauce to which I got no reply . It didn't totally spoil my meal or evening at this restaurant but I wouldn't visit here again . The 3 other people I was dining with all enjoyed their...
