Bangkok On The Walk — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

My family had a wonderful dinner at Thai Bowl on the Walk last week. We are big Thai food fans and were not disappointed. We decided to try many of the items to taste the different dishes. They were all outstanding. We started with the Prawn Crackers and then moved on to the Prawn Tempura which were crispy panko type of batter and moist inside. We fell in love with the Montood, coconut battered sweet potato strips appetizers which are now a staple for any Thai meal. We had Chicken Massaman, which was seasoned perfectly. The modest looking bowl was enough for my dinner and lunch the next day. My wife loved the coconut rice and I had Mee Pad for the first time instead of rice and the egg noodles with veggies was the perfect compliment. So many textures, flavors that were all made to order and served hot, right off the stove. My son and friend had the red curry and pad thai, all were excellent. Wonderful...

Had the pad Thai which was honestly good and tasted like authentic Thai food (could be better with chili flakes though) but be wary and check your bills!!!

We ordered a pad thai to-go so as to obtain a discount. We asked the waitress to confirm if the discount was valid and she said yes, but eventually still charged us the original price. While we were thankful that we requested for a receipt, we were told by another waiter that they had “increased” the price and the value charged was after discount (when the menu showed otherwise). Though the discount was small and they eventually refunded us the excess value, but integrity...

Genuinely a hidden gem. You wouldn’t realize how great this place is if you walked by. Small and unassuming ambience, absolutely great thai food. Imagine coming in from a cold and windy street and eating warm flavourful curry that takes all that away. This hit that spot many times over! Got the tofu stir fry, green curry and mango sticky rice. The dessert was a little too heavy on the rice, i mainly ate just the mango !

Also, big pro - they were open for dinner service at 9:30pm on a Sunday night. Others nearby don’t offer the same! One of the main reasons we stumbled here and 1000% grateful...
