In addition to the great atmosphere and delicious food and drinks, I have to mention the exceptional service we received from the waiter at the Cowgate coffee house. From the moment we walked in, they greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. They were attentive throughout our visit, checking on us regularly and ensuring that our glasses were always topped up.
When we had questions about the menu, the waiter was happy to help and provided detailed explanations of each item. They were patient and courteous, even when we took our time deciding what to order. When our food arrived, they checked to make sure everything was cooked to our liking and offered suggestions for how to best enjoy each dish.
Overall, the service at the Cowgate coffee house was top-notch and really made our experience there even more enjoyable. It's clear that the staff take pride in their work and go out of their way to make customers feel welcome and satisfied. I highly recommend this coffee house not just for the food and drinks, but for the outstanding...
Read moreThe decor of the place is charming but the service was appalling and I left without eating.
The decor was nice but the music was bad and the speakers were broken, making this very annoying scratching sound. When I asked for it to be turned off or fixed, they just switched to the next song.
I had a specific order because I have a condition that significantly limits my diet - nothing beyond their ability I made sure it was doable and said I was happy to pay standard price. It came out incorrect, which is an honest mistake and I politely asked for it to be corrected. The owner came out and publicly berated me. I explained that I don’t choose what I eat because of my condition, but he kept saying that no-one around here would serve me what I ordered. I was angry and humiliated, and he was clearly completely ignorant because I went and ate exactly the same order at another cafe less than two minutes away. I do not recommend this place whatsoever, there are plenty of better...
Read moreWe stopped at this place before our departure to London two weeks ago. We were indeed with our luggage. We ordered 1 orange juice (bottle), 2 espresso coffee, and 1 portion of chips. The owner charged us £6.99 for the portion of chips. When I asked if this was a mistake, he vaguely replied "this is what we usually do". I asked to see the menu to check the price, he said that chips were not on the menu. Is it not a mandatory requirement to display prices on the manu? I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world (London), and in 13 years I've never been charged £6.99 for chips. He definitely took advantage of the fact that we were tourists, and thought it was fair...
