CrispyQ Asian Kitchen — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Was dying for a chicken shop but in the centre of Edinburgh, there was nothing. Even if there was, it wouldn’t be as good as Crispy Q - I’ll be going back every weekend.

The place itself is nice, a bit small but perfect for a pre-night out. But the guy who owns it always makes a little bit of time for chit-chat, and if you’re lucky he might make something new for you. The chicken itself is just so delicious and the flavours are unlike anything I’ve tried before. I tried the Mala chicken, which had so much depth of flavour once you got past the heat. The price is very good and they’ve got some nice meal deals as well. The chicken was so moist and flavorful!!! Loved how the batter wasn't too thick and the chicken wings had a lot of chicken on them. Didn't try the bites so can't really speak for them. I tried the cumin sesame chili, the mala, and the butter honey mustard.

My favorite was the cumin sesame. It was savory, fragrant, and crispy. The mala was savory and actually mala spicy. The butter honey mustard was sweet which isn't typically my preference but it was still really good! I loved how they separated the sauce and the chicken so it doesn't get soggy.

The owner came out and spoke with us and gave us drinks on the house. He told us that they double fry the chicken to make it extra crispy! Will definitely be back to this little independently owned...

I recently tried CrispyQ Fried Chicken. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served hot with just the right amount of crunch.

The standout, of course, is their fried chicken bites. Perfectly seasoned, incredibly crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside—it lives up to its name. You can tell they put care into their recipes. Everything tasted homemade but elevated.
