Nando's Edinburgh - Ocean Terminal — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Very disappointed with our nandos at ocean terminal. Me and my partner are regulars to nandos at fort Kinnaird or straiton, never an issue. We had a movie at the cinema so we decided for our date night we would get a nandos before never attending this nandos before assumed it would be the same. Firstly, we were sat at a table right in the middle with the sun beaming in our eyes when there were tables for 2 available and lots of them. Then our food took around 30 minutes to come but we could see it was ready after 15 and was just sat under the heated lamp for ages until the waiter came. Kitchen are clearly shouting for someone as there were a lot of plates but the boy who was the waiter was completely ditzy and walking around cleaning cutlery like there was nothing to do (cutlery was soaking after). At this point we were getting really frustrated with it. When the food arrived it was stone cold. The chicken was completely hard and dried out the knife would barely go through it, the chips well there was barely any chips on the plate and the garlic bread was the worst of all! It was so cold I could barely bite into it? I know places can have bad days especially on a Friday evening but if I had to pick I’d rather wait longer for better food than have food served so disgusting. Not one to complain usually and didn’t complain in the restaurant due to having a movie to see and not having enough time for them to remake it and probably still be the same. Review for Nando’s at Ocean Terminal Shopping Mall

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this Nando’s location. From the moment we walked in, it was a disaster. The restaurant was freezing cold, making it impossible to feel comfortable during our meal. To make matters worse, the place was dirty and uninviting, far from the standards you’d expect from a Nando’s.

We sat down around 8:40 pm, and it was clear that the staff were already preparing for closing—even though the restaurant closes at 10 pm. All the sauces were removed, and the service was slow, inattentive, and absent for long stretches. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers.

When the food finally arrived (shockingly fast after ordering via the QR code), it became evident why. Everything was clearly pre-cooked and left to sit for who knows how long. The fries were stale, cold, and soggy—obviously leftovers from earlier in the day. The pita and chicken were just as bad: cold, rubbery, and lifeless. It was as if they didn’t bother to cook anything fresh, instead reheating or repurposing old food.

This was, by far, the worst meal I’ve ever had at Nando’s. The combination of the poor service, unpleasant atmosphere, and subpar food made the experience unforgettable in the worst way possible. Shame on Nandos staff in Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh. Today just after 2pm, my 12 yr old daughter and her 13 yr old friend were verbally abused by a mentally imbalanced deranged customer TWICE and the staff ran away to the back and hid and ignored what was happening instead of trying to intervene and call security atleast. None of the staff helped at all. The man came up TWICE and intimated, threatened and verbally abused them, screamed in their faces, at 2 young girls and the staff were too CHICKEN to help them! Shame on Nandos. Didn't have the decent to call security and ensure they were safe. The situation could have escalated and became physical as this man was leaning in towards them and threatening them. His child fell over due to his own failure of being a loser of a dad, he wasn't paying attention to his child, his child injured themselves as they weren't being cared for and he decided to tak his failure and embarrassment out on the girls who were talking and laughing amongst themselves after not seeing each other for a year. How dare the man take his failure of being a dad out on the girls and the staff for failing to keep the girls safe by not calling security and instead they hide away in the kitchen.
