would give 0 stars if i could, absolutely appalling service and attitude from the staffs, thought i was the only one to experience this, but after reading a couple of reviews, it appears they treat their Asian customers like crap while being an Asian restaurant…

decided to dine here during the fringe as my friends and I were waiting for a performance and she had a stomach ache and was craving hot soup. went into the restaurant, sat down and ordered. food came and we did enjoy it although the portions were ridiculously small. barely seconds after i had finish my last mouthful, the waitress came and cleared the table, 5 seconds later came and ask us if we want the bill. we didn’t even have the time to sit a little longer and chat or anything, was practically rushed to gtfo. when the bill came, the waiter brought it over on this little metal plates with chocolate, as he sat the plate down on the table, he literally used the chocolate to cover the gratuity charge on the receipt in front of me ??? like what, i was not even given an option to pay or not pay gratuity. what’s the point of calling it a gratuity then if you are the one deciding it for me…maybe they were expressing gratitude to themselves. i’ve look through a couple of google review photos of this place and apparently they kept changing the hidden charge from discretionary charges to service charge and now gratuity, honestly such shady business tactics to get more money. i would not for the life of me...

Honestly, the food is brilliant but the service is beyond atrocious. Had a booking for 8.30 and was told the table would be ready from 7.45 in a text message. We turned up at 8.10 or so just to be told to wait until the table was ready. Menus were given to us at this point to look at while standing in the tiny area at the host stand, and the second we sat down at the table we were asked for the order. At this point we were also told the kitchen closed at 9pm ( a full 40 minutes away) and that the mains and starters would come at the same time. Sorry but you're a restaurant in the city centre of Edinburgh and to rush the customers like this is just plain bad service. Whilst eating, with all the food coming out randomly (with my curry arriving before the soup) they would try to clear plates and glasses without having finished each dish. They even looked annoyed at ordering a second drink and the bill was given to us without asking for it whilst 1 member of the party was literally still eating their main course. We were not offered desserts or anything and this was a special occasion for my partner's birthday. The food was great but I'll never be back because the servers made us feel very unwelcome and only cared about finishing early. I work in hospitality myself so I hate having to write this review but needs must when I've received such...

WARNING, watch out and avoid this restaurant! First, note that sides/rice are not included in the already expensive dishes (which are not big by the way) But the crucial thing is that they care nothing for their customers and their attitude is offending. I ordered Pad Ka Prow, and the taste was too bitter for me. I told them about it and they said "you can order another dish but we will charge you for it". I told them I cannot afford another dish, especially in light of the prices, and I asked to replace it. They said they don't care and my only option is to pay for this dish and order another because "they are a business". Less important, but it still upsets me, is that they told me I should have expected it to taste like it according to the menu, but when we complained that the dish arrived inside a bell pepper, they said they have a new menu which isn't updated... In my opinion sure, they don't have to replace it, but a basic courtesy of restaurants (and businesses) is to care for their customers and take this possibility in consideration. All this came from the manager (I think she said her name is Monnica) Thai is my favourite cuisine and I have had a lot of Pad Kra Pao before, so it really bothers me and I am sorry to have to leave this review. My worst restaurant...

Located conveniently close to the castle, this restaurant is a great spot for authentic Thai cuisine. The menu offers a variety of dishes at reasonable prices, making it an excellent choice for those seeking quality food without breaking the bank. The ambience is charming and adds to the overall dining experience, with thoughtfully designed interiors that reflect traditional Thai aesthetics. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout their meal. Portion sizes are generous, and each dish is prepared with authentic flavors that make it stand out from other Thai restaurants in the area. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here, as both the dining area and the restrooms are kept spotless. The attention to detail in maintaining a hygienic environment further enhances the restaurant’s appeal. Overall, if you’re in the vicinity of the castle and looking for a place to enjoy a delicious Thai meal, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. It combines great food, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service, making it a top choice for both locals and tourists alike. Highly recommended for anyone looking to savor authentic Thai flavors in a comfortable setting.

We were quickly seated by the window and provided menus, there were table dividers for social distancing which were opaque, so also had the addition of privacy ! From the start the customer service was fantastic and they were really friendly and happy to answer our questions about the food and recipes! We ordered : spring rolls, vegetable curry puffs, battered coconut sea bass and tofu stir fry and two portions of jasmine rice. The sea bass was battered and crispy, even when covered in the coconut sauce. Remained crispy for the whole meal and didn’t become too wet. Sauce was slightly sweet and fragrant but not overwhelming. Overall so delicious, we highly recommend it, with good portion sizes and was reasonably priced. For a pair, two dishes is more than enough. Curry puffs were delicious- they were small curry filled shortcrust pastries and were made in house , marked with a green dot ! We recommend a post-meal walk up to the Castle, great location for evening views. ❤️
