The wife and I went here last night for some dinner! Thankfully it had just stopped raining so the prom was quiet. We got served straight straight away by nice lady. I got the shrimp bun, my wife got the fish finger sarnie and we shared the crispy squid and old bay fries. We tanned the crispy squid first which was quality! I thought they’d maybe be a little crispier but they tasted great! The garlic mayo it came with made it even better. My shrimp bun was terrific. Amazing flavour and it was super juicy. My wife’s fish finger sarnie was also well approved. She loved it in fact, producing uncontrollable mmm’s. Both buns were substantial in size. The only negative I could think of was that the buns could do with an upgrade. They struggled to contain the contents so maybe with a better quality bun then they do a better job. Saying that, they tasted fine, and the messiness was quite humouring. Finally, my expectations for the old bay fries were pretty low as I thought it would just be bog standard fries mixed with old bay seasoning, and maybe it was, but they tasted great and were very indulgent. It was also a huge amount, so good value. Overall, we throughly enjoyed our scran at shrimpwreck. The service was faultless, the food was brill and the value was good. My new fav place to eat on the prom.

I normally do not enjoy fish & chips much because of too salty fries or too oily fish but this was an original approach! We had fish sarnia sandwich and it was the best fish&chips I have ever had! Definitely stop by if you are around!

I can't really recommend this place, it's overpriced. We had the calamari and the fish finger sandwich. You can see from the photo the actual size of the portions, no bigger than your hand. I disagree with one of the reviews that stated "you get huge portions" as that is not correct and is was why we went to it the first place. The calamari you get about 6/7 small pieces. It was fine. The fish finger sandwich had very delicious fish and it was supposed to include chips as part of it, but the chips are just in the sandwich and you don't get many. Furthermore, the mushy peas on the sandwich were half of the sandwich, which got sickly very fast. I don't feel like this is worth the £18 I paid for this food, and that for the price I could have got a lot better value for money. Additonally, there is also only one option on the mention that is lactose intolerant friendly and that is the calamari.

Went through to portobello especially to try this place and we were not disappointed, when we first walked past the que was massive so took a stroll them came back to find a closed for 15 mins sign in the window as the guys were having to restock which was fine as we managed to grab a seat, once they reopened the que started to form quickly but they weren't long in getting through everyone. The food was OUTSTANDING and excellent portions, we ordered the shrimp burger which was to die for, the buffalo shrimp, crab mac n cheese and a portion of the old bay fries to share it all between 2 of us so we could try a bit of most menu, there was plenty and everything was top notch. Will defo...
